Gothika - New Old Skool Goth Night @ Moshulu

Recommended Posts

GOTHIKA

Starts Saturday 4th September in the back room of Moshulu.

Entry through Air Guitar

1st and 3rd Saturdays of every month.

Music policy: old skool goth - Bauhaus, Virgin Prunes, The Cure, Fileds of The Nephilim, The Faces of Sarah etc etc and maybe a bit of 80s (Killing Joke, Depeche Mode etc) and if we feel adventurous we may throw in a bit of mellow industrial as well!

Joy Division were getting promoted as 'gothic' by their producer, Martin Hannett, in 1979. Kinda predates the positive punk tag which gave way to a more widely accepted use of the word 'goth' in the mid 80's. So I guess JD were proto-goth.

NO are just guilty by association ;)

Well' date=' quite a few of the bands on the set list aren't goth, but I did say that I would play some alt 80's and industrial light as well, so i think i am justified. :finger:[/quote']

I'm taking it that as no-one objects to Duran Duran that makes them goth dy default ;)
