Michael MacLennan
I was thinking about Black Flag (and an article in Drowned in Sound), and thought it'd be cool to have my own PA, travelling around and playing Popcorn Fiend gigs whereever I pleased. But can anyone tell me what size is needed for playing a small bar, a hall, etc? And how much they'd be? It'd beat pay to play anyday... spellchecker
are you going to be like a musical burger van? in fact, if you actually were a burger van, as well as a travelling musician, you'd probably become an overnight sensation. You could be Popcorn King, and i'll have some fried field mice, please.
Tav
We used one of the PA systems from Captain Toms rehersal rooms. I don't know if you are familiar with there but have two speaker enclosures on stands and a powered mixer/amplifier. This was loud enough to fill a pretty badminton court + a bit hall we played...and that was competeing with Scotts rather loud kit. I am sure it would be sufficient for bars and what not...I don't know how much one would set you back. In Aberdeen's case I don't think I'd ever want to use my own PA as the systems here are all really good and well set up for the venue.
