Darth Elvis
Mark Lanegan playing in Aberdeen has made my year as soon as I found out yesterday, tickets were bought!
New York Johnny
Anyone had any update on the situation here? Seems to have all gone quiet and I'm a wee bit concerned that the Mark Lanegan gig appears to still be the only one listed a couple of months on. Monster Zero
I was wondering too, walked past last weekend and everything is still the old Bassment/Warehouse signs...only 2 months to go until Lanegan...this will be disappointing if it's a cock-up... Anytime I do a search on the Garage Aberdeen the only thing that seems to come up is the solitary Lanegan gig...seems a bit odd that there is not even a half-arsed venue website, even if it was 'under construction' it would be something...I'm preparing for disappointment and trying to get ticket refunds... Guest E.C
this is very weird...does anyone have any info?
Guest Tam o' Shantie
I do enjoy the Moorings. Although i notice there are regulars who give some people the whole "you are not local" feeling when entering and drinking in the bar.Despite drinking there since I was about 18 in the days when it was fairly fucking dead half the time and (comparatively speaking) reasonably grotty, I mostly get this patronising chat when I go there nowadays as well. "You look lost mate" type stuff. Do I...OK thanks for your concern, I think I'll be alright though.

Jaaakkkeee
Take down the fence between stage and crowd please
Chris
Take down the fence between stage and crowd please Isn't that a licensing restriction based on how busy a gig is?
Jaaakkkeee
Well, at least make it so it can be taken down? I mean, especially for local bands.
Adam Easy Wishes
Well, at least make it so it can be taken down? I mean, especially for local bands. For what reason? Genuinely interested - it's not like people tend to stand any closer to the stage than the barriers allow anyway.
Alkaline
For what reason? Adam Easy Wishes
But would a physical barrier between Jack and OUT OF CONTROL DRUNK PEOPLE not help him feel safer?I'm totally confused.
The Milner
It blocks access from the dance floor, your only cool if you go down and play in the crowd.

Scootray
Hello The Garage Aberdeen. Do you have the money to implement the soundproofing required which essentially shut the place down?
Jaaakkkeee
Yeah, stage diving and such. Tunnels and Drummonds were always better for seeing your favourite bands.

Old Gold
Yeah, stage diving and such. Tunnels and Drummonds were always better for seeing your favourite bands.I don't think such anti-social behaviour would be very popular at a Mark Lanegan gig.
