stevealex35
Does any one here know how to go about getting paid for writing and recording music for people/organisations/independent films? I have heard of people writing jingles for adverts and the likes. How the hell do you get into this game??
Adam Easy Wishes
Get a publisher.Give music to publisher for submission to such calls for audio for ads etc.Profit.
stevealex35
Sounds well easy.Do you know of any publishers worth contacting? I.e ones who are used to dealing with people with no experience of this industry whatsoever.
Adam Easy Wishes
No idea, I'm afraid. I'm sure there will be some kind of guide online though. Maybe check the PRS website or something?
Guest Gladstone
Steve - it may be worth getting in touch with Eskimo Blonde (Aberdeen based band) - they had songs used in American TV programmes and stuff in the past. The songwriter from that era is no longer in the band, but I heard from one of the current members that that ex-songwriter is pretty minted off the back of it. Might be worth a shout. And another guy worth asking is the singer from Outbox - he is part of a website which is called songwriter.com or something - he writes pop songs for other artists I think. I don't know much about it, but maybe worth a shout as well.
Adam Easy Wishes
Possibly also worth speaking to Iain Macpherson at Bedford Records. He's pretty switched on to industry stuff so would perhaps be able to give you a bunch of advice.
