TODDLA T + MC Serocee !!!

+ Giles Walker + more

SNAFU - FRIDAY 18TH NOVEMBER - 11-3am

Advance tickets only £10 from Attic (no booking fee), Athenaeum, One up and Ticketweb (link below)

Hailing from the unlikely musical hotspot of Sheffield, Toddla T – real name Tom Bell – makes a fierce mix of electro beats, dancehall & dubbstep that belie his Yorkshire upbringing.

Twenty-five-year-old Toddla cut his teeth on the DJing scene when he was just 14, leading other DJs in the city to christen him with his diminutive nickname. The name stuck, but thankfully didn't stop him from conquering clubs, festivals and rave-spots all over the world, with Serocee, his MCing partner-in-crime.

Skanky Skanky (Toddla's debut album) was released on 1965 records in May 2009, and showcased his unique mash-up sound with a stellar line-up of collaborators including Mr Versatile, Herve, Joe Goddard, Roots Manuva and Matt Helders(Artic Monkeys).

Now it's 2011 Toddla T has just relseased his second album on the legendary Ninja Tune label, which he travelled to Jamaica to work with Diplo in the studio,

has a regular slot on BBC Radio 1, and has produced tracks for some of the UK scenes biggest stars (hands up Tinchy, Roots Manuva and Ms Dynamite)!!!

He has a slew of remixes under his belt (Hot Chip, Gyptian, Gorillaz, Major Lazer for starters), is a star of his own Toddla TV channel online. Not to mention the recent launch of his Girls Music Label which, after only three releases has already featured productions by British dance music heroes Sticky and Roska! ....and Annie Mac is his bird!!!

With MC Serocee en tow his live shows are truly awesome events which can turn even the most mundane of nightclubs into a bouncing-dancehall-daggering-fun-festival.

Toddla + Mc Serocee plays Snafu Fri 18th November! Get tickets now!

It was lifted from his press bio. I guess they are referring to they type of music Toddla plays which is more electronica, black and "urban" usally associted with the the cutural melting pot of places like London. With is strong afro carribean communitys etc.

Sheffield had produced a lot of good stuff, theres no denying that. More bands tho.

Maybe thats what they mean... Hmmm
