TheFuzzBox
Hi Guys,I'm looking for someone to repair a valve amp (Orange Rocker 30), based in Aberdeen preferrably. Can R&B help? I sent it down to Dennis Marshall a few months ago to sort out another wee glitch with it, he was brilliant & solved the problem, but I found the shipping etc a bit of a hassle, so would prefer someone locally for this repair if possible.Any recommendations/contacts?Thanks in advance... HateEvent
R&B don't do much with regards to amp repair to be honest. What is it that is needed?
TheFuzzBox
Its a strange one - seems to be problem which is only affecting the Dirty channel on my amp. The Dirty 'Volume' knob seems to be ok, however I can hear a crackling noise when I use turn the Dirty 'Gain' knob, which results with the Dirty Channel cutting out completely... HateEvent
Could just be dirty contacts on the pot or a shot pot itself. By all means bring it down to the shop, we don't charge to assess. Whether it is something we can fix or not is a different story, of course.

toiletbag
You need contact cleaner (Maplin etc. will sell it). Easy to fix yourself!
HateEvent
*Potentially just need contact cleaner. It isn't always just as simple. Servisol switch cleaner is available from R&B as well if you want to pick some up. handy if you are central and don't want to travel out to Maplin. Teledeluxe
Contact cleaner does what it says, so often works, but won't reliably fix a potentiometer that's worn out.
