Ross
Sounds like Insomniac era GD....Funny as The Offspring have gone right back in their sound also.... The new album isn`t poppy at all.. well apart from Hit That.
J
Ok that radio rip is great quality!!! It seems to be another of same sounding Greenday sound albums yet still sounds great hehehehee can't wait.
che
Green Day, sounding like themselves, but it sounds like Billie has been spending a bit too much time with fat mike Certainly politically driven Political Green Day. Beautiful.
J
Would'nt it just be sooooooo Ace if NoFx and Greenday teamed up to write a whole album together that would be kool doubt it would happen tho... (i can dream)
J
Political Green Day. Beautiful. Then again Greenday to a certain extent have had Politically driven songs like Minority etc there is more there should be a nice mix
che
It's a shame this is a radio edit I want to hear billie say 'fuck' "I'm not a part of a redneck agenda"
Paulscoconutass
Then again Greenday to a certain extent have had Politically driven songs like Minority etc there is more there should be a nice mixFit? Isn't minority about not conforming and being in the ..... minority .... and berly-alternative?As for this tune' date=' aye - it's prety mental, i'll definately be purchasing this album - kinda surfy and poppy, but you can tell it's destined for the radio. I like the band -> drum/singing bits, just another decent song, catchy song. As for political, i hope the whole album's not overly 'fuck bush' as they've done pretty well up 'till now without in-yer-face political punk. If it is, i think i won't be as impressed as it just seems to be a onther mainstream band suddenly hitting the political concept.... bandwaggon? And [b']CHEers for the link
kirkt
it was on lock up last night, pretty good...more a return to the old Green Day sound unlike last 2 albums which was cool but doesnt sound too predictable either
Pete
Zane Lowe played it twice in a row last night on his Radio 1 show, it's fookin' great.I think the last two GD albums had proven that they are certainly no bandwagon-jumperoners, they do their own thing. Billie Joe has ALWAYS been political but has never really chosen to sing about it. In the K! interview recently he was talking about that but I cannae mind off the top of my head what exactly he was going on about. I do remember him saying that being directly political like RATM wasn't his thing though. But no matter what the subject of the songs are, it's still a great tune and as one of the biggest bands on the planet, of course it's gonna be on the radio. I shall be singing along every time

Guest Salty
good stuff, but about green day being political. i'd say that warning is a bit political, i mean listen to the lyrics "is the cop or am i the one's that's really dangerous" and "question everything or shut up and be a victim of authority"
che
I've heard people calling Warning a political album, but I find it hard to agree with that. Warning is more about, the more obvious links, of not following everything you're told to do.Minority could easily be mistaken for a political song, but the lyrics are actually about getting people to not to follow the norm and to be a have a bit more of their own identity. This same themes is present on the whole album, even through to sexual preference in Blood Sex and Booze.American Idiot is Green Day's first 'full frontal' political album.Stephen - as for the connection to Ruby Soho, I'm not really hearing it..I've tried listening to Ruby Soho a few times to make the connection but can't..Ah well che
Paranoid Android
I'm not sure if i'd like greenday to go backwards in their sound. I think nimrod was their best album, warning and insomniac just behind it.
che
I'd love them to go backwards in their sound But not all the way...the insomniac era would be perfect I certainly wasn't keen on Warning. The singles were terrible and the album only slightly better..
threeornothing
Awesome!!! What an excellent return to form!! Really back into Green Day lately, American Idiot sounds pretty similar to Nice Guys Finish last.....but still ok....Favorite son would sit more nicely on the Warning album (which is my fave).....lovely guitar tones too...yum....will no doubt track down the whole album
