Lemonade
No RROD or anything dramatic, it's just stopped reading discs. I got it second hand (for free no less) so I don't have a receipt or anything, do I have a leg to stand on if I contact XBox support and tell them it's packed in? Lemonade
Wow typical, it's been acting the cunt for days, and literally five minutes after I post this it just started working again. Ah well never mind. As you were.
Moose
Cool story bro...But really, if it happens again just give the Xbox a wee whack on the side. That used to work on out old Xbox. Its probably that the disk reader is faulty. If you give it a whack it will reposition it correctly. Worked for me anyway.
ZeromiserY
I can fix that for youIf it's under warranty then go fir that option. Otherwise I guess it can't do any harm. Buy 6 budweiser and head to mine on Sunday and I'll have a crack at it.
Stroopy121
I didn't have any reciepts on mine but customer service didn't seem to require them. That was RROD mind, so xbox were automatically counting that problem as being 'their fault'.. it's worth trying though if it happens again, it's pretty plausible you'll just have to pony up the cost of a replacement disc reader and an hours labour -which can't be that much can it...?xx
Diesel
Definitely worth a punt!Nothing ventured....A friend of mine was taking some stuff to the dump in Stonehaven and picked up what looked like a perfectly good XBox 360 out of a skip.It didn't work when he got it home of course, but he brassed it with Microsoft and got a new one free!Needless to say he's now known as "Stig of the Dump" I think whilst the XBox 360 is a great idea and has arguably the better games, it's such an unholy, unreliable, noisy heap of shite that Microsoft will do anything to save further embarassment. My PS3 hasn't so much as skipped a beat in over 3 years (I've just jinxed it now, haven't I ? )
Teabags
Mine did the same thing.I lay it on it's side rather than having it sit upright and it's had no problems since.
Soda Jerk
Mine did the same thing.I lay it on it's side rather than having it sit upright and it's had no problems since.I've always had mine like that. It looks better, and safer. It can't really fall over if it has already fallen over.
Woodsinho
Yeah, I knacked my copy of Rock Band 1 by knocking over my xbox with the game playing. I left it in the unknockdownable position after that.
Le Stu
I've always had mine like that. It looks better, and safer. It can't really fall over if it has already fallen over.I've always had mine upright but the last one still overheated and died with an E74 error so it probably doesn't matter.(the idea of it being upright giving more surface are/air circulation or something)
Teabags
When it's upright its like an erect penis which is entirely a good thing.
