Swingin' Ryan
postal service - sleeping inI've listened to the Postal Service quite a lot in the last few days, I've got a soft spot for a nice bit of mellow Indie-Rock to nourture the soul. Had you been relaxing at the Hilton Craigendarroch during the last week you would have heard one of their albums being played very loudly as two yobs threw New Potatoes off a lodge balcony. It was a friends CD so I don't know any of the song titles, I do like the one where there's a female singer and she says "I must interject here", it's catchy as Herpes. jimr
The postal service is essentially an extension of a dntel track called "the dream of evan and chan" being the first collaberation between Ben Gibbard and Jimmy Tamborello. It works, but doesn't achieve the depth of the dntel album. I heard postal service before dntel and thought it was amazing, and it is, but the fact remains that the dream of evan and chan, more or less the first postal service song, is miles better than any of the tracks on the postal service album. opinionionnionionionion
psydoll
That was the first collaboration between those two? In that case I must admit that I agree with the above post on first viewing - let me dig out the albums concerned.By the way - good spy!
