All great songs, as you'd expect, no more than one song per band, because that's the rules. Each song, just, sheer, class. That's me, not my, but me story, & i'm sticking to it.

Plan A - The Libertines

Albion - Baby shambles

In The City - Razorlight

Maybe Someday - The ordinary Boys

Charmless man - Blur

Gas panic - Oasis

Milk man - Aphex twin

Sorted for E's & Whizz - Pulp

Blank Expression - The speicals

Celebrate your mother - Eighties matchbox b-line disaster

Teardrop - Massive Attack

Your mother has a penis - GLC

Almanac - The others

Swastika eyes - Primal scream (chemical bros. remix)

edit; Made it for winamp purposes, just now. k? thanks!

not had a chance to listen to it yet but i'll bang it on today when i'm tidying. wait till you hear the treats i've got for you, woa baby. it ended up being a lot heavier than i was originally gonna have it as the more experimental stuff came off to make room for heavier tracks i like. the one you gave me looks ace though, looking forward to hearing it.

my best mixtape i made was one for my girlfriend which she used to play on her way to uni in manchester every day cause it made her think of me :O

yeh i have this habbit of putting the same artist twice on a compilation. sometimes i feel if i've put one song on its twin must also go on... to complement the other, but obviously not one after the other. that would defeat the purpose.

i've yet to make a decent one for myself because i go through to many phases. plus im constantly making cd's for my girlfriend.

think i'll make one for relaxing to, its been ruff these last few days. i'll post it if i finish it.

finger on the pause button....

some good picks in the last posts, heres mine... an evolving mix recorded to minidisk for listening to whilst living. I always try to keep them varied and delete tracks that I'm bored of (the main advantage of minidisk over tape) and put on new stuff whenever....

note - edits are tracks that have been messed with i.e. added beats, looped bits or generally altered to segue into the next track. there are also random 'spoken word' samples from films etc. dropped in at random places throughout...

pharoahe monch - simon says

fourtet - everything is alright

james brown - the payback (edit)

gangstarr - code of the streets

squarepusher - I wish i could talk

the lemonheads - If i could talk i'd tell you

ultramagnetic mcs - break north

de la soul - jennifer told me

the ramones - I wanna be sedated

the jesus and marychain - darklands (edit)

prefuse 73 - the end of biters

art blakey - ping pong

captain beefheart - electricity

autechre - piezo

rolling stones - gimme shelter

the beatles - helter skelter / revolution no.9 (edit)

the headhunters - god made me funky

N.E.R.D. - lapdance

the monkees - mary mary (edit)

beastie boys - to all the girls

charizma - devotion

johnny cash - I walk the line

glenn campbell - I guess I'm dumb

black sabbath - paranoid

NWA - straight outta compton (extended mix)

the stooges - gimme danger (edit)

madvillain - accordian

the upsetters - sipreano

ride - today

dizzee rascal - fix up look sharp

cornelius - star fruits surf rider

beach boys - feel flows

El - P - deep space 9mm

cannibal ox - b boys alpha

jimi hendrix - purple haze (edit)

manitoba feat. koushik - hendrix with KO

jaylib - champion sound

dennis brown - black magic woman

the byrds - i know my rider

mono forms - you give me micro cuts

genius/gza - liquid swords

flying burrito brothers - sin city

dusty springfield - son of a preacher man (edit)

cypress hill - hits from the bong

lee dorsey - get out my life woman (edit)

dillinger - flat foot hustlin'

medaphoar - ox (edit)

yesterdays new quintet - lifes angles

nigo - march of the general

MBV - only shallow

BOC - happy cycling

james carr - the dark end of the street

Thanks. I got into Life Without Buildings through a Rough Trade sampler I think you sold me. My bandmates have good taste in music, but veer towards the metal/hardcore side of stuff, which I like, but I'm a bigger fan of the stuff represented on the tapes. I didn't see the point of making a tape of stuff they'd already heard a lot of or own.

i can't remember exactly what was on the best tape i ever made.....i think it was stuff like smashing pumpkins, mogwai and a team sleep remix of 'be quiet and drive'....very mellow tape. but i'm proud of the one i made using mostly fadgin2's CD collection :)
