EnkaiScreamer
right, ive been looking at wireless guitar systems on thomann.de, and they have many "t-bone" wireless machines, despite the fact that they are cheap, are they worth the money? im looking for something under 100 or do you know of any other companies that do cheap but decent wireless systems? HateEvent
Regardless of price, you want to go for a digital one as others will be redundant very soon.Line 6 Relay G30 is pretty popular. Though at 329 it may seem pricey. That's not bad though to be honest.
Fraser Mac
Line 6 Relay G30 is really good,
Adam Easy Wishes
Do many people use wireless guitar thingies nowadays? What are the benefits? Other than the obvious 'I can run around massive stages and crowd surf whilst still shredding, man'.
Stroopy121
Do many people use wireless guitar thingies nowadays? What are the benefits? Other than the obvious 'I can run around massive stages and crowd surf whilst still shredding, man'.Main advantages for me really are not getting tangled up (because I'm a fucking idiot who actually does get tangled up in his own guitar lead) and never being at risk of accidentally unplugging your guitar.the disadvantage though is that if you're a slack bastard you may find the battery for your transmitter runs out during a gig, although I can't decide if I felt like more of a dickhole then or on the occasions when I kick my lead out from my amp...xx

HateEvent
I used to use mine to stand out front during soundcheck to see how the sound/mix was at the front of house rather than just on the stage.
EnkaiScreamer
yeh mine is mostly just for movement, and to prevent a mess onstage (we all know tripping over wires ISNT fun) and i would be looking for 100 or under, i have seen the line 6 G30 relay, but its too pricey
HateEvent
As I said on the first post, remember the digital aspect. 100 expenditure on a non digital system will most likely be priced that way as many frequencies are becoming illegal to use so the devices which correspond with these are going to be at clearance prices

I've got one of those Samson Airline AP1 pedals with the wee AG1 adaptor because I'm ridiculously good at knocking leads out. Could that potentially be made illegal to use in the near future? If so, why?
Soda Jerk
I nearly bought one a while ago, because i wanted to get stuck in the crowd at gigs. Great in theory but guitar tuning would get fucked up in seconds so thought i would save the cash. And people would hate that, alot. They really would. EnkaiScreamer
yeh, also, what is with all the different frequencies? do they matter? i have found 3 of the same wireless guitar systems, all with different frequencies... but the same thing
HateEvent
They may all be of a frequency which will be useless very soon. Not trying to sound to asshole-ish but buy the right thing rather than buying twice.
HairyScaryMark
yeh, also, what is with all the different frequencies? do they matter? i have found 3 of the same wireless guitar systems, all with different frequencies... but the same thingSome frequencies are licensed out and if you use a licensed one and disrupt something else that is going on you can potentially face legal action. Other people have stated it probably isn't wise to buy a wireless system, at this current time: unless you get a 'digital' one - which wont have these sorts of problems. Buying a really cheap system (you said line 6 was too expensive) is just going to make your guitar sound bad. I suggest holding fire on this until you can get something that you wont later regret. TR!ΔNGL€ T€€TH
Surely wireless systems are only for fuds like Richie Sambora? A guitar lead is more than adequate... Well, unless you are a complete gant.
CraigO
Was looking into this myself and really interested in the Line 6 Relay G30 - is there much difference between this and the G50?
