Fifa 11

Stop looking at a computer screen.

Phone screen. Bored laying in bed. Sorry mum.

I'm currently shit at this game. My passes go all over the place. I also don't like the inconsistency of stinking rich teams. Man City have got their silly millions, but what about Birmingham City, Sunderland and QPR? They're all filthy rich too. I wanted to play as Brum in the Manager Mode and build them into world beaters, but you only start with a measly 9million. Boo!

So I've started as Man Utd, but I'm playing mostly a second string side. Obviously Darron Gibson is my top scorer with 4 screamers in 3 games. I can't even get the ball anywhere near the box to score poacher goals, so he's my goal scoring outlet.

I like how you can recall players who are on loan. I pulled Tom Cleverley back. He'll be the successor of Ryan Giggs down the left. Manager mode seems a bit limited though, much more so than last year, so I'm going to start a career as a goalie, see how that goes.

If anyone is going to the trouble of uploading their own crowd chants on this, I have cut, looped and uploaded the famous Olympiakos ALL OF YOU ARE GAYS! GAYS! GAYS! chant here, for use on Fifa. Apply it as the chant for EVERY team.

Sorry for my lack of computer skills, but how do I get this onto my Xbox360?

It's a bit of a fiddle. You need to burn the chants onto a CD, as an Audio CD (not a Data CD). To make it worth your while, have a look here: FIFA11 - Downloadable Audio - Xbox 360 & PS3 Discussion - FIFA 11: EA Forums and burn a load onto a CD, then put the CD in the Xbox, copy them onto the hard drive, set them as 'playlists' and then on the Chants and Music option on the Fifa game, you can select the playlist which it will play when your team are at home.

It works best if you only burn the chants onto a CD that you want to keep grouped, for example Man United chants, and setting it as the Man United playlist when you copy them onto the HD, otherwise it gets pretty complicated to split them up into seperate playlists. So have a disc with just Man United chants, and then another with Arsenal, or whatever... It's probably only really worth doing it for the team you want to be, in the career mode or whatever.

It's pretty good though. You can set it to play entrance music, full time music and even some generic rock anthem when you score a goal, like Chelsea Dagger or Seven Nation Army. Or whatever song you want. EA will be releasing easier to install audio packs in the near future, but right now, it appears everyone is taking it into their own hands. Which will probably have better results, as I doubt EA will knowingly release the best chants (the offensive/foul language chants)

Only played a couple of games thus far but it's mint. The changes seem pretty minor but they make a big difference to the gameplay, as per usual. The new passing system feels a lot more natural and the game's pace makes it easier for me to Catenaccio the shit out of motherfuckers online.

Going to put ALL OF YOU ARE GAYS on my PS3 tomorrow. Already got Newcastle coming out to Local Hero. I have Shame on a Nigga by the Wu-Tang Clan playing when Aberdeen come out/score a goal, and I have the crowd chanting it. Imagine a sold-out Pittodrie full of Aberdonians busting out some Wu-Tang in doric accents. Class.

Skills are mostly a cosmetic addition and are largely ineffective, unless you spent hours learning which players are capable of performing which skills, and mastering the timing and direction. It would be quicker to just master passing the ball around well. The 1-2 and the "send nearest player on a run" controls are much more threatening than stepovers. Especially if you don't complete the 1-2, and let the opponent follow the player making a run, creating masses of space to run into.

The player traits and specialities play a big part too. Try and play as a team who has a crossing specialist. The accuracy is deadly, and I seem to be scoring heaps of goals from good crosses. Scoring a header is incredibly satisfying.

So the 1-2 thing...Cesc Fabregas passes into Bendtner, then I push what to get Cesc to make the run forward (creating space for Nicklas to chip it up for himself and header it in from 20 yards)? In Pro Evo it's R2 or whatever that equivalent is on the Xbox.

Also is it worth buying an adapter and paying for Xbox live?

Hold LB as you press pass, the first passer will automatically bomb forward. It's up to you if you want to pass it back to him though. Not passing to him is quite a good tactic. Defender follows him and opens up a big hole for Bendtner to lob the keeper from 40 yards.

Or if you tap LB whilst running with the ball, the player nearest to you, usually infront, will run forward.

You're prone to being offside though if you leave the runner running too long, so be prompt at chipping it over or through-balling it to Bendtner for him to bicycle kick the ball through the net and out of the Emirates.

Xbox live is good if you like playing online. I really don't. It can get laggy. Not just jittery gameplay, but a delay between pressing pass and the player actually passing. That is pretty crud. Most people you'll get matched up against will be arseholes too, who either quit when they are losing, or go OTT with celebrations/watching all 3 replays of every goal etc... I'd rather play a local game, but my missis doesn't like football games.

Someone with a big house and TV needs to volunteer for hosting a big virtual kick about.

Being tight fisted and not owning a modern console, I am borrowing a PS3 today, buying this game and spending all week in my pants becoming some sort of pathetic loser/lives biggest winner playing this almost non stop.

Im buying it for the flat prettttttttttttty soon.

So realism has gone out the window then!

Haven't bought a Fifa game since World Cup '98 version as I've always been a Pro Evo man (harking back to ISS on the SNES) but the last version of Pro Evo was so disappointing that I downloaded the demo for Fifa 11 and so far I've been quite impressed.

Fallout New Vegas and Black Ops upcoming release will probably mean I won't buy either football game until they come down in price or I receive a decent trade-in price for Halo Reach.

I used to like Pro Evo, but it hasn't been good since the PS2. PES2008 was one of the worst games I've ever played. It's been arse on the next gen consoles.

Bendtner can score from anywhere, virtual or real. Best thing to come out of Denmark since Lego.

Yeah they've not been great on the Next-gen consoles. I think Pro Evo 4 was the series at its peak.

Not sure if you're firmly tongue in cheek about Bendtner or not. I'm not a fan.

Pete or Kasper?

I'd still take 6 goals a season Nicky over Schmeichel senior, despite his legendary status. Afterall, he did a bad by playing for United and then City. You just can't do that.

Peter obviously, although Kasper seems to be doing the football thing the old fashioned way of actually playing for teams rather than sitting on a bench hoping for a teams number 1 to get injured, so i'm sure he'll come good.

You are a mentalist. United wouldn't've been half the team they were during that era without Schmeichel. Arsenal can always do without Bendtner!
