Soda Jerk
I'm after one, but I know nothing about them. Are they worth spending money on, or will a cheap one cut it? I usually try to avoid cheap pedals, but for something that is essentially a volume pot in a box, I wasn't so sure.If anyone has a reasonable one knocking about they want rid of, then fire it my way too! HateEvent
I've seen some of the cheaper ones acting up in terms of the hinge for the footplate being crap and dropping down so that it's never fully "off". Also, generally, they have far less of a sweep than the likes of the Ernie Ball so it's harder smooth transitions in level. They feel horrible as well and sometimes seem "sticky" when trying to slowly/softly roll on/off levels. That sounds stupid but I hope you know what I mean! Alkaline
I use an Ernie Ball and i tried out a lot of cheaper ones when i got that and, like HateEvent says, the Ernie has much more fluid transitions which work well both live and on record. Great add-on if you need one.
Cabbage
The Ernie Ball volume pedals are the shiz, though I always feel like I've been ripped when I look at it and think "thats just a volume pot and three jack plugs" and they go for >100 new!! o_OAmazingly usefull on your pedal board though.
