Men At Work sued for plagiarism

It's hardly an empirical part of the song. A 3 second bit of flute solo hardly constitutes 60% of all the money made from the song. Definitely money grabbing. The quote at the end of the article is pretty peeving... "It's earned a hell of a lot of money for us since we've bought it,'' Mr Lurie told The Age.

The Verve had to pay 100% of the royalties to Bittersweet Symphony because the strings bit was sampled from an old "muzak" version of a Rolling Stones song.

Crazy lawsuit but at least they are only going to have to pay 5% of earning since 2002 now.

Really Men at Work should be on trial for crimes against music.

I'm sure that The Rolling Stones needed the money:popcorn:

I seem to recall they knew nowt about it, it was their old manager that initiated it all. I seem to remember seeing an interview with Keith Richards when he was asked about it, his reply was along the lines of 'Yeah, um, I don't know much about that, um, fuck em, y'know?'
