Anyone seen the new V (2010) series ?

I only just noticed this "new" channel tonight and watched this new series....

seems, from what I've seen, to be very good !!!

I enjoyed the original "V", but gave up on the sequel that came out a year or so later.

Clearly, the budget had been much reduced.

It's starts with the "Diana" character being led to a trial for her crimes.

Now bearing in mind that she and her alien buddies were guilty of the death of squillions of humans....

They escort her to the courhouse, and when they arrive, there's about half-a-dozen bored looking extras slouching around with hand-made placards that read "Death To Diana"...and..."Aliens Go Home".

I switched it off at that point.

*geek hat on* Ah well strictly speaking the sequel to V was the Final battke, whjat you describe is the really rather terrible V TV series which was really not very good - you know a series is bad when Michael ironside leaves it.

Loved the original, even have most of the books, the new one - from what I've seen - is OK but it doesnt have the tension of the original, probably because you realise so early on that theres something not right about the Visitors, and so many characters calling them V's annoys me too, they are the visitors, the V part comes from Victory...

Still undecided but will watch the first series.

Yes, "Mohican Haircut Syndrome"

In the Last of th Mohicans, the titular tribe had long hair and it was in fact theie enemies, The Hurons, who had the now famous strip-up-the-middle hair nash!

Back on topic - is SyFy a freeview or Sky channel?

Pretty sure it's Sky as it's what used to be the Sci-Fi Channel.

Syfy is just a re-branding exercise by the Sci-Fi channel, a change which they made last year in the US due to the fact you cannot trademark the word "Sci-Fi".

The channel is on Sky in this country, I don't believe you can get it on Freeview.

That said, about 'V'. I enjoyed it and I'm looking forward to the next episode.

The casting... a chick from Battlestar, the blonde from Lost and Alan Tudyk and Moreena Baccarin from Firefly. It's genre actor heaven. Let's say it again. Moreena Baccarin. Yes. <3
