Ravendarksky
Hey anyone know if Chef Jang has moved from the market to Huntley street yet?I'm meant to be going there for lunch tomorrow and don't want to turn up to find it gone!It was still there three weeks ago, but a friend said he couldn't find it when he was looking the other day. Ravendarksky
I Google mapped him and found a dead phone number: 589012it gave me this number when I called it: 566002Eventually got through to him. Apparently they HAVE moved and won't be open for another week or two.Ah well At least he's getting a better spot, it's about time. The other sushi places are making a fortune stealing his potential customers!
Lemonade
I was in the Market last week and his shop is completely empty. Didn't know where he was moving too like, glad he's got somewhere better cos he is ace.

I haven't been but I'm sure someone mentioned it somewhere. More sushi is obviously a good thing though.

I went there for a lunch when it just opened, and when I ordered tuna rolls - they opened a tin of weightwatchers tuna in oil, and just spooned a bit out into a mould. But on the plus side it encourages more people to go to Chef Jang! DanClews
the food there is total garbage...I didn't want to be that brutal but you are right. We were sitting at the counter, when she opened the tin of tuna. I wanted to make sarcastic comments to my wife, but unfortunatly the girl making it was two feet from us.

RossP
My usual order is a plate of Bulgoki (spiced beef and rice), a portion of Beef Rolls, Vegetable Maki, Miso Soup, Vegetable Dumplings with Inari Sushi (sweet tofu) as a 'pudding'.Totally skint afterwards, but a brilliant meal

I always feel that the puplic are let down a lot in this country be poorly run business'. If enough people complained then they might buck up their ideas and get decent food going.I had a rant on "pet hates" about this, and quite a few folk agree. The funny thing is that people moan all the time about other peoples tastes in music, and rip them new ass holes on forums like this and they did not even have to pay for the privilage. Yet when it comes to paying a few crisp 20 quid notes for a meal, we just sit and take it...and wait for it....in case WE offend the people serves the shite!! 3CR816
When were these Oryza incidents? I've been fairly recently and it was pretty good. I'm no Sushi expert though, so they probably could have served me anything.

Metarie
The thing is you have to have a particular kind of food safety certificate to serve raw fish so if they didn't have that then tinned tuna is pretty much the only option available to them. I've been there a few times and thought it was alright and I have heard that it's run by the wife of the chap at Chef Jang's. Also, they stick seafood/crabsticks in the sushi at Chef Jang's and no one seems to mind, to me that's much more of a cop out than using tinned tuna. At least you know where you are with tuna, god knows what are in crabsticks!
