Woodend Barn
stages one of the finest singer-songwriters and performers around. Ex Love And Money frontman
James Grant
will play material from all his critically acclaimed solo albums and a smattering of the old favourites in a solo acoustic setting.

James Grant's career began in the early eighties, when he formed Friends Again with Chris Thompson but it was with Love and Money that he found more widespread recognition gaining several hit singles, a world-wide following and silver discs in the UK.

His writing style has in the past been compared to Leonard Cohen and Tom Waits, and his guitar playing compared to Eric Clapton! As well as playing with Ewan Vernal (from Deacon Blue), he has also worked with the likes of Tom Verlaine (from the band "Television"), Jeffrey Porcaro (from Toto) and Karen Matheson (Capercaillie), and legendary producers such as Gary Katz (Steely Dan) and Tom Dowd (Rod Stewart, Eric Clapton and Aretha Frankin).

Last year, James Grant released Strange Flowers, his most upbeat record since Love And Money's legendary Strange Kind of Love. Another phenomenal collection of songs with shades of Scott Walker, John Martyn, John Barry and 70s' soul but the voice, the inimitable lyrical twists and turns and blistering guitar playing are absolute James Grant.

A show not to be missed, raw, heart-rending and uplifting.
