THE BASSMENT. Suggestions and feedback welcome.

i would genuinely love to see what happened if the worlds of Trance (which Aberdeen appeares not to be big enough to support a regular night of) and Metal were to collide.

It could be like when Bambaataa took his hip hop sound uptown to the punk kids at the Roxy...

Maybe The Bassment is where this revolution could take place...

...

(also isn't trance full of mid range, gated synths and therefore not bassy?)

If the bassment had nights which combined free-form jazz and free folk I'd be there!

(called 'joke' or 'frazz'?)

Seconded. If there's one thing Aberdeen has been missing for a long time, it's a regular free-form jazz night. Precipeace at Kef was excellent stuff. 5 for a bottle of house wine resulted in many regretful schooldays in 6th year.

  • 4 weeks later...

Took all the feedback on board about the volume etc and all the other points on the bar on board. The night is still a fairly busy one though so its still on.

The Open Mic night has great potential to do well and was really good for the first few weeks.

Lately its been a bit quieter but were open to booking acts to play set slots at it if anyones interested - with the cheap drinks and decent host it could shape up to be a good monday night hangout.
