ClaireFu Posted February 18, 2010 Report Share Posted February 18, 2010 SNAFU COMEDY CLUB :: KEIR MCALLISTER, STEVEN DAVIDSON, LEONA IRVINE & KEARA MURPHY (MC) // TUESDAY 23RD FEBRUARY // SNAFU Keir McAllister started stand up in April 2004 when he entered the Dundee heatof the Jongleurs J20 Last Laugh Competition. Despite it being his first ever gig, he won and went on to win the Scottish final and found himself doing his third ever gig to over 1000 people in Londons Criterion Theatre, Piccadilly Circus. He came runner up. Keir went on to have a successful run at the Edinburgh Fringe 2004 with a show called Rehabs for Quitters where he teamed up with comedy partner Paul Pirie. The following year he was part of the sell out show Scotland 4 Australia 1 in the Glasgow Comedy Festival which went on to have a further very successful run in the Edinburgh Fringe 2005. He and Paul Pirie also hosted their own late night comedy show. Keir has gigged all over Scotland and the UK and can be seen regularly working for people like The Stand, HaHa Comedy and The Last Laugh Comedy Clubs. He has also had a string of successful festival shows with other comedians. He first teamed up with Paul Pirie in the 2006 Glasgow Comedy Festival called Dare you Seesaw as well as featuring in another collaboration (featuring Susan Calman and Ro Campbell among others) Four Men and a Little Lady. In 2007 he teamed up with another comedian Derek Johnston for the Fringe show The Sunshine Variety Couch which attracted rave reviews. He went on to perform again with Derek in this years Glasgow Comedy Festival with a show called Keir and Dereks Trouser Cough. Keir has seen his first play Falling for Grace preview at the Dundee Rep Theatre to critical success and then go on to do a full Fringe Run in 2006. His second play Death of a Critic premiered at the Glasgow International Comedy Festival 2008 at the Ramshorne Theatre and is going on to tour later in the year. Keir came runner up in Scottish Comedian of the Year 2008 competition. He has also been a regular guest on Karen Dunbars Summer Supplement on Radio Scotland and has written for a number of radio sketch shows.
