Mass Effect 2

Looks absolutely bitchin' and apparently fixes everything wrong with the original

Can't wait for this! It's the only I've looked forword for the Xbox.

I didn't think there was anything wrong with the first one haha. Well maybe more inter universal sex but that's just me.

I agree but apparently if you weren't 100% in awe of it, like maybe only 95%, you may have noticed the inventory system was fiddly and maybe grinding up mountains in a buggy that steers like a cow ain't so fun.

You know what now you mention it the buggy was a bastard on certain planets.

The geek in me loves the comic strip!!

Word is that the loading times are less long this time while still being too long by normal standards.

I am looking forward to getting Cromarty Shepherd back for more galactic adventures. 2 days to go.

I can't fucking wait for this. Hopefully it arrives today from Game.

I am playing it on PC which no doubt will be superior to the 360 version - the command menu resembles Knights of the Old Republic a lot more on PC. I tried to play it on 360 but it didn't feel that intuitive, plus the frame rate was a lot worse.

At least the elevator scenes aren't so bad when you are using Steam because you can just look up porn while you wait.

Unfortunately, there's no planet roaming sections in the Mako anymore :( I liked fighting the sandworm things.

I'm tempted by the Steam version, mainly 'cos my hexbox's '18 month lease' just expired and I won't get it back in time for the release.

But dayam, that'll be the tits on the big screen.

Picked up Mass Effect for a 10 in Asda a few months ago but unfortunately Modern Warfare 2 has meant i've barely scratched the surface of it. It seemed pretty good, if a bit fiddly at times.

I think i'll dust it down and get back into the swing of it this weekend.

I caved and went Steam. How fucking shit is it that there's a 'deluxe version' with gaydor super weapons though? Ohhhh, I need to pay 10 more so I can rub my shiny bellend.

Yeah, you get special armour that regenerates your health and allows you to run a lot faster with the Collector's Edition, however there's no way I am using that - it would completely remove any challenge from the game whatsoever.

Are you able to get access to the Cerberus Network for free with the version you bought?

You are able to visit the Normandy crash site, as well as a new character you can get to join your team.

Yeah, and the extra content you mentioned is available as soon as you register your key. As far as I can tell, the only things you don't get with the basic Steam version are the 'chitinous' armour and the collectors gun.

*Woah, there's mad crazy bonuses for this game.

I might nick out for a can of Dr Pepper later

I've been on this all weekend. Some of the main dialogue sequences are amazing, particularly the ones with Carrie-Ann Moss (who's sexxxx even as the voice of a computer generated character.) and in general some surprisingly witty little lines for a VG. Although, I suspect the budget is on par with some Hollywood films.

The illusive man is Martin Sheen I swear on it!!

Looks and voice are very close.edit JUST CHECKED AND IT IS.

This game is unbelievably good.I'm not even running it an HD t.v and it still looks amazing.

Charecters are good and the plot so far is good. I wanted to sleep with Dr Chakwas after plying her with Brandy. Miranda is a gap toothed bitch with a an oz accent that makes me want to spew in her ass. Me as in Sheperd.

The new upgrade and research systems are pretty cool aswell. Only encountered one minor bug whilst I revisited the citadel upon the meeting with the councial.

What am I doing ? It's my day off, it's half 11 and I'm socialising on a forum. MUST get back to reality and dedicate myself to this game.

P.S the fact it is spread between two discs makes me undergarments moist.

Don't scratch it. It won't load properly, especially on XBOX.

(Loving ME2, by the way)

Words cannot do this game justice. I am a very skeptical person when it comes to new games, and I never buy into the hype. However, the writing and storytelling in this game comes close to the level of Deus Ex and sometimes I just find myself looking around, soaking the environments in for what they are.

Definitely one of the most immersive games I have ever played, and there's still plenty to do.

Played it all day today and I think I'm close to SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER relay.

This game is not good for my health.

Spoiler added for the sake of the poor souls who haven't played the game yet.

Just add spoiler tags around anything ([ spoiler ] and [ /spoiler ] without the spaces). I assume you eventually pass through the Omega 4 Relay because it is mentioned in the trailers for the game before it came out.

That's how I play! I'm taking my time on the first round, doing all the side quests and stuff.

It doesn't look like it's as hard to grab all the achievements in this one. The first game took three play throughs at least.

It is ? Oh well!

Yeah the acheivments are pretty shit to be honest. 35/50 so far.

I'm at a pivotal point in the game so I'm going back to do the side quests and scan the planets for more side missions.
