Singer and bass player required for 1864 In Art.

Recommended Posts

After being inactive for most of last year we're looking to get going again and get back to our original ideas for the band, which was heavy alt-rock music. To this end we're looking for a singer that can sing, though occasional screaming and shouting may be tolerated (or become an inevitable result of trying to please Jan).

We're also after a new bass player. Ideally someone who can jam out songs and listen to what's going on around him, not just running up and down the scales.

All of us have other commitments so regular weekly practices aren't expected. But we'd be hoping to get together a couple of times a month to keep it moving (sometimes more or less depending on how active the other projects are).

Influences:

Pelican

Neurosis

Clutch

Smashing Pumpkins

Deftones

Isis

Soundgarden

See http://www.myspace.com/1864inart/ for recordings, though they're quite old. More recent stuff is available to interested parties (it's pretty rough so not for public consumption).

Reply here, PM me or PM Jan if you're interested.

Cheers

Chris

I am a mature Bass Player, perhaps not what your looking for, but I have an ecclectic taste in music and I happen to live in Banchory and could do with a challenge. Once again perhaps not what you have in mind but I can hold the bottom end down.

The Commitments?

Indeed. I was referencing that montage where people come to his door and he just says "Who are your influences?" before slamming the door in their faces.
