Metalcore

It seems the big thing in the last couple of years and I got to say I despise most of it...specially all the stuff on Ferret and Trustkill (with the exception of From Autumn to Ashes) but the UK has some fookin ace bands doin this metalcore kinda thing so please, please check these bands out if you like metal or hardcore (some you'll prob already have heard of):

Beecher: your prob familiar with these http://www.beecher-online.com/home.htm

Winter in June: http://go.to/winterinjune (buy their split on engineer records with steel rules die!)

Stand: the best of the bunch for me...their split 7" (on heavy pink vinyl) with Fig 4.0 is the best 1.50 i've ever spent, also check out their split with HHH http://www.theaudaciousartexperiment.com/audaciousexperiment.html download "Halt the Dancefloor" from the media section

HumanFly: Same label as new Beecher stuff...www.humanfly.co.uk

to me, these are the only bands worth hearing from this style...if anyone likes these and know of other bands they think i might like ill check them out too

I've heard good things of HumanFly. Beecher are obviously ace. Never heard Stand (I have no record player - any CD stuff about?), and you keep going on about Fig 4.0 - anything available for d/l?

November Coming Fire are ace. Send More Paramedics do the old school thing well. 3 Stages of Pain are brilliant, but have been quiet of late. British bands always sound more "vicious" than their Yank counterparts...

That said, I love my yankee metalcore, along with a good deal of the Trustkill/Ferret roster (but I HATE fata. Rubbish.) Deathwish records is a bit more in your field, from what I have - check out the band Sex Positions for some ace stuff in that noisy vein. Some Girls get a fair bit of good press, but can't say I can listen to too much of it.....

I've heard good things about November Coming Fire and I'm downloading them now, i'll let you know what I think, i'm also checkin out some stuff on deathwish like Sex Positions...it looks a cool label...Reach the Sky and Terror have both released stuff on it

you can hear the Stand stuff on the above website but they have a CD out with hardcore punks HHH which is ace...as for Fig 4.0, their not as metally (in comparison)...in fact they dont sound like anyone really. Mp3 here: http://www.bombedout.co.uk/downloads/mp3/fig._4.0_-_give_up_your_day_job.mp3

http://www.bombedout.co.uk/downloads/mp3/fig._4.0_-_red_ash.mp3

http://www.bombedout.co.uk/downloads/mp3/fig._4.0_-_start_tomorrow.mp3

i also reccommend a Japanese band called Envy...epic is the only word to describe them!

Broken Oath are great. I used to really like In Decades Decline, but thought they were getting a bit rubbish last time I saw 'em (with 9th Plauge)....

to be honest, I didnt enjoy Burning Skies or Broken Oath when I saw them. Wasn't impressed with In Decades Decline at the above mentioned gig but I quite enjoyed em when i saw them playin balcony bar in dundee with Engage a couple of weeks ago

Check out most of the stuff on Blackfish records for the best in British metalcore.

Don't think much folks in Aberdeen are interested though. I caught two Blackfish acts - Knuckledust and 50 Caliber, at Lava two years ago. The attendance? Try five people.

Yeah i was one of the attendees to that gig very good bands but the attendence was the worsti have seen

I guess you must have been one of the folks dancing. Yeah, I really could not believe how few people were there. Felt so badly for the bands.
