ca_gere
'Barry Shitpeas' is a character designed to take the piss out of the z-list talking heads from 'I love 1983' style review shows. He's not an actual person. Pretty sure the guy's just a regular actor as I've not seen his face before. Funny as fuck tho.
Murrr
Watching the Screenwipe Review of 2009 on iPlayer at this very moment. Shitpeas is an absolute titan.

I don't even recognise you any more, maaan.I realised he may have been a character, but was wondering if he had come up in other things, the way Alan Partridge etc do. You tit. Soda Jerk
I like Shitpeas. the 2009 review wasn't as full of belly laughs as 2008, the Gladiators part especially.
Woodsinho
Spectacular, I'm watching the screenwipe review of year now and asked myself that same question. Found this thread on the first page of the google search for Barry Shitpeas which was nice. He's the director of the show, Al Campbell. Paulscoconutass
Gameswipe was a bit gash.Newswipe is supposed to be starting in January sometime.
Le Stu
"I thought animals were just full of meat like they are in the shops."Yes! Screenwipe is brilliant. It simultaneously reminds me why I almost never watch TV while giving me access to the best worst bits of it.
Scorge
Shitpeas is the man.And just how funny was this:YouTube - Charlie Brooker's Screenwipe - Prank texting the Santa Channel.

Oedo 808
Does anyone know much about the synth/elctro pop sound Grandaddy created for the song that's used as the theme? It's really cool.
ca_gere
He was on top form the other night. Good to see Charlie Brooker doing what he's good at instead of trying to present channel 4 panel shows and the like.
Soda Jerk
Too right. Shitpeas was excellent last night."Like the sun died of leukaemia!"Brooker was good. He's gone a bit wet recently since he got married, but he had a good moan last night, which is good.

captain burrito
No, his main greatness is his newspaper column. Whilst I think he's alright on TV, he comes across way better when he's writing for The Guardian. You can read most of his stuff on The Guardian website, or I believe HMV have collections of selected articles for under a fiver.
Lemonade
I knew about the Konnie Huq thing, but I wouldn't know him if he came up and kicked me in the balls. Tho Wiki claims he used to write for Oink, and also was on the 11 o'clock show so he gets plus points for those. I'll keep an eye out for those wipe things if they're on again. I feel like I'm missing out on something special. You may have missed the boat. He's nowhere near as relentlessly cruel and bitter as he used to be. He's a bit more chipper. It's not as fun. He's still alright though, although I didn't care for his column where he practically apologised for being mean. What a wet fanny.
