The Riva Starr sound is very distinctive, often carrying that gypsy spirit, drawing influence from Balkan folk/rock. He describes his sound as Snatch!, although his good friend Laidback Luke recently described his style as Mezcla, a Spanish word used to describe a mixture of different things, which aptly applies to Stefs sound, with his World influences and eclectic beats. Youll hear it throughout his upcoming album If Life Gives You Lemons, Make Lemonade out on Made to Play in January, especially on the first single I Was Drunk, which features the self-edited video using footage from Balkan director Kusturica, raking up over 40,000 hits on YouTube.
