As the doors close on 2009 and another great year of music and guests at Snafu, we're bringing out the big guns, and celebrating New Year's Eve in proper NYC - Studio 54 style... The legendary and era defining ALAN BRAXE (Daft Crew / Vulture / Roule) of Stardust fame (Music Sounds Better With You), headlines our party, alongside Bugged Out's JOJO DE FREQ, Hush Hush / EES / Subcity regular DJAMBA, and Cheynie's Digital Disco. With more acts to be added to the line-up, things are set to go off at Snafu this year. Jojo De Freq and DJAMBA bring in the new year in The Athenaeum before heading on down to Snafu to continue the party, while Cheynie warms up the Snafu crowd, in anticipation of Alan Braxe's bell ringing treats. Tickets are priced at a tasty 16 advance, and are available now Here, One-Up (Belmont St. Aberdeen) and The Athenaeum.

ALAN BRAXE

Alan Braxe started producing in 1997 and made his first "Vertigo track on Thomas Bangalters (Daft Punk) emblematic Roul label.

The following year, one of the greatest hits in electronic music was born: "Music Sound Better With You. This came about thanks to Alans collaboration with Thomas Bangalter and Benjamin Diamond, under the Stardust name.

This experience led to the creation of his own label - Vulture - in 2000, allowing him to produce his own sound and to multiply the number of artists with whom he could collaborate.

The first release for Vulture "Intro once again proved to be a hit, becoming another classic on the dance floors.

For almost ten years, Alan Braxe consecrated himself as an artisan with a passion, exercising three professions: composer, producer and remixer.

Since 1998, he has remixed artists of different styles and reputations. As a solo artist, Alan has remixed the likes of Bjrk, Britney Spears and Kylie Minogue. In collaboration with Fred Falke, he's remixed Goldfrapp, Kelis, Jamiroquai and Justice. All of these productions appeared on Majors such as Parlophone, Virgin, Mute, Pias, Zomba They also appeared on labels which are a must on the independent scene: Roul, Vulture, Modular, Deffected, Domino, Edbanger and Kitsune

His label Vulture enabled him to experiment in new paths as he did with Rubicon (co-written with Fred Falke), In Love With You (The Paradise) and Addicted which was released on Kitsun Maison 5 compilation in 2008. Vulture also enables him to produce artists, notably Lifelike and Kris Menace: Discopolis, whose video was made by Seb Janiak (filmmaker for Janet Jackson, Daft Punk, Robbie Williams).

Today, Alan Braxe still works on the International scene and is concentrating increasingly on production work for other artists and his soon coming album.

JOJO DE FREQ

JoJo De Freq can truly be called a one off. The resident DJ for legendary parties like Bugged Out and Nag Nag Nag is as unique and talented behind the decks as she is in the studio. After six years at the forefront of the noisy Electro-Techno scene in the UK, her maverick approach to DJing and self taught production skills have earned her the respect of forward thinking people. Running a download-only-label called Mythic, JoJo tries to be as prolific as a physical label could never be and stretches the muscles of big riffs and melodies. JoJo won't leave you unable to hum a tune or repeat a vocal hook in your head. This girl is the acid-tinged future.

DJAMBA

DJAMBA is on hand to bless your ears and get the party going with his cross section tour through house, baltimore, dubstep, electro and more. The Subcity radio regular is pretty well booked up with DJing slots, warming up for some mighty fine bookings including Steve Aoki, DJ Mehdi and Shadow Dancer, has previously supported the likes of Duke Dumont, DJ Zinc, Foamo and Jackbeats, and holds down his residencies and bookings across other venues around Scotland. Expect big, big things from DJAMBA.

CHEYNIE

Paramount and Deveron Fm resident Cheynie, lives for disco, electro and techno. He'll be warming up the crowd with his Digital Disco this New Years.
