Hog
I miss it when Union Square was an abandoned train building used for sneaky car parking and for a homeless guy who wrote satanic messages on the wall along with dead seagulls propped up by twigs. Guest droid
Soul-less shopping centre? Good addition to retail atmosphere of Aberdeen? We went to the Westfield centre in W12 London, the biggest shopping centre in Europe. It was a horrible place,soul-less and absolute pants.I imagine this place will be pretty much the same. Johnny Mac
I thought it was quite nice inside actually.Had a little wander around last night. The link to the train station looks good, with the old building visible.
Fast Caz
Homemade burger co. sounds good to me. I would of went ape for the Cult Store when I was 14 years old. I haven't had a full aimless walk around the place but it'll just be another shopping centre full of overpriced goodies I can get from the Internet at half price. It will be a treat for tourist types.

Murrr
How's the bit linking the train station and the bus station? I'm guessing it's mostly not open yet, given the state it was in last weekend.Fairly fed up with having to shout over "CRASH!", "BANG!", "WOLLOP!" at work like. Fucking builders. MattJimF
you can walk right down to the bus stands from the train platforms no problem. All done apart from the makeshift queuing system for bus tickets (cones and hazard tape).
Skubbs
There's no way that was a flashmob hahaha the music was bloody loud, heaps of parents were ushering their kids away, holding their hands over their ears
Le Stu
So, how big is the Apple Store? Is it just an iPod store on steroids or does it have a Genius Bar and presentation area?
MattJimF
I would say it's slightly bigger than the O2 store in the bon accord centre. here's a link to the store's apple page Apple Retail Store (United Kingdom) - Union Square

I didn't think there could be anything more of a crock of shit than a flashmob, but a fake staged flashmob seem to be able to manage it,
Teabags
I was thinking the same thing as I watched it. how did they get music through the centres PA system if it was a flashmob? Where'd the lighting rig come from. Or did someone just drop all that off while walking past just before they all crouched to the floor? Bigsby
If there's one thing I can think of that's more cunty than wacky fucking students carrying out a fucking flashmob, it's professional flashmobbers.

Should've thought of that myself really... it looks like a pretty decent wee store there.*and 'flash mob' was a load of crap. A zombie one would be fucking awesome. I've seen that in other cities. Gus Chamber
Sounds like yet another place to avoid, like we needed another "Dawn Of The Dead" for the drones to flock to.Internet shopping it is, no dealings with people.

KimyReizeger
58,000 people attended over 8 hours yesterday. Incredible. People queuing up at the Apple store for free 'exclusive' Apple T-shirts. In fact, I couldn't understand why the Apple store was so busy. Can anyone explain? What's so interesting about a few gizmos, phones and laptops? And what'll happen to Union Street, which already looks grubbier and shopper-hostile by the day. Guest Gladstone
I just don't understand the excitement attached to something like this. I couldn't give a fuck about a few new shops, and there's no way in hell I'd go near the place this weekend. It will just be so fucking busy.I was speaking to a mate who's in the police, and they are treating this weekend as a "major event" with pretty much every police officer in the land being on hand when (not if) trouble and chaos ensues this weekend. The city's infrastructure apparently just won't cope with the amount of traffic that's going to be in and about the centre tomorrow.I'm off to burgle some houses whilst they're all otherwise occupied. Sue Denim..
I think I might be in an advert for the shopping centre. Some camera crew came up to me (obviously because they like the 'hung-over look') and asked me to stare into the camera and say "It's Happening!"I can see the start of a new career on the horizon.
