Guest Gladstone
I'm doing the marathon on the same day. I wish I was doing the 10k.10k is effectively a sprint to a marathon runner. 8 miles is the farthest I've ever ran. I weighed myself before and after and I lost about 4 pounds (and that was about a year ago when I only weighed about 10 and a half stone before going for the run!!). I'd waste away if I ran 26 miles. Scootray
I much prefer sprint running, so when I first started training it was a case of telling myself to pace myself rather than going all out straight away. I'm definitely a lot fitter than I ever was and I remember the thought of a 10k was terrifying, but now as you say, it's pretty easy. I've not really lost weight, It sort of just yo-yos but at the minute I'm sitting at a steady 12 stone. It just depends on what the hell I'm eating during recovery time and how hard I'm going when I do run.
