Spidey, Iron Man, X-Men etc. are now all owned by Mickey Mouse and his cohorts. What do you think of this news? Will it cause Marvel to tone down the violence and stuff in their films and comics, or will Disney stay out of it and let them keep doing what their doing?

Are you excited about the prospect of a Goofy vs Wolverine crossover?

I doubt that it'll affect Marvels' comic out output too much. Disney bought the company to fill a gap in their demographic, males aged 12-35 (i.e, me); why fuck with something that is running successfully, and has done since the 1997 bankrupcy. At worse they might cancel a few books that don't sell, which might be a bit shit if they're decent books, but Marvel probably would have probably done the same anyway. Admittedly when I first heard about this yesterday, the fan-boy in me had nightmares of Wolverine/Buzz Lightyear cross-overs...again, at worst it'll probably mean Marvels' animated output is now shown on the Disney channels. I can live with that, I watch that shit streaming off the Marvel website anyway

Upshot is that Marvel studios (the movie side of the company) will now have the full weight of Disney-power behind them, which should be awesome - time for a new Marvel Studios Fantastic Four, and Disney will have to bin The Incredibles...

Nothing against Marvel, but The Incredible was fucking ace.

Can't see a problem with this, remember, Disney bought Miramax in 1993, so the likes of Pulp Fiction were in fact Disney films, can't see a Marvel pic being any worse than that.

Mad. I'm sure the cash injection will be positive in the long run.

On a completely different note, I wonder if this means Universal Studios will have to get rid of the Hulk Coaster and all the Marvel gubbins at Islands of Adventure? There's a fair old amount of stuff. Spidey 3 - D is possibly the greatest rollercoasterey thing ever.

The Incredibles was good, but is a total Fantastic 4 rip-off

Looks like this acquisition will mirror Disney's relationsip with Pixar:
