Johnny Mac
Right, I've been updating a website for a former boss and i'm looking to upload it and replace the old site.If I am uploading a new file it works no problems. However....I tried to replace the favicon.ico file in the root folder and got the following error:550 Cannot STOR. No permission.: /wwwroot/site/favicon.icoThis also happens when I try and replace any other files.I also can't delete any old files that are not needed and get a similar error message:550 Cannot DELE. No permission.: /wwwroot/site/mapOLD.htmAny ideas??????
Teabags
Right click on the folder, and set permissions to 777.I think.

Teabags
What FTP client are you using? And does your FTP account have full permissions on the server?

Johnny Mac
From the guy:You currently have read, right, create, delete and update rights on the Inetpub folder ..He was being a total cock though! All I want to do is update this site!Jesus.
Teabags
I can't think of anything else. I reckon paranoid may be able to shed some light though.
paranoid
550 Cannot STOR is an access problem, eith you don't have the rights to do what you were trying to do, or the file is in use. Being a favicon, it is always going to be in use so I would say the guy is dicking you about and hasn't given you proper access rights.I'll see if I can figure out what else could be causing it. paranoid
Nah, it's all about permissions. Can't find my FTP bible, but it is permissions.Phone him back and shout at him.
Johnny Mac
Apparently he doesn't want to give me full access. What a bell! How on earth am I meant to update this shit? He wants me to send him everything and then he'll do it. Fucking yanks. Shower of useless bastards.
paranoid
Tell him to do his own website then. I hate fuckers that do that. I was once refused FTP access altogether. That really makes building websites possible.Dicks
