britheguy
I'm not sure if this has been covered. I tried a search but nothing came up, bu tthen I'm pretty crap on the PC.I was just wondering to myself today about intros. The amount of songs I listen to the start of and then move on to another song etc. It's got to the stage where people coming to my house complain about me jumping up and down changing records/cd's etc.So here are some intros that I'm into just now:Fire (live) - Hendrix - Voodoo Child. I even like the guy speaking at the begining.Standing on my own again - Graham Coxon - Love travels at illegal speeds. Love the guitar soundsMardy Bum - Arctic Monkeys - Whatever people say I am.... Just because this song makes me laugh when I hear it.There's a few more as they keep changing every now and again.B

waltz
Rolo Tomassi - "I Love Turbulence" gets me EVERY TIME."Summertime Clothes" by Animal Collective has a good intro as well. As does "New Noise" by Refused. Favourite just now is "Six Pack" by Black Flag though, there's something really exciting about it. Then the time signature changes and it's just good good good. Mr Owl PhD
I'm not that big a fan of them but the intro to 'Transmission' by Joy Division takes some beating.I've always really liked the intro to the Peel session version of 'New Town' by the Slits too. Frosty Jack
Sweat Loaf - The Butthole SurfersI'm pretty sure I spent a large part of the 90s shouting "Satan! Satan! Satan!" at people. Also annoying my bass player by nicking his bass to try and play the intro to Mountain Song, Jane's Addiction.

Mr Owl PhD
As this is all rather 'rock' I reckon the best pop intro is to 'Move on up' by Curtis Mayfield.
