LiamC
Best : the king blues gig i was fucking hammered and i pulled this chick who later tried to pull the lead the singer of the skints that was a fun night..Worst: passing out outside the gents upstairs and waking up after closing time covered in puke. discotron
Best - Drinking with the boys from Therapy? after they played there.Worst - Standing FAR too close to my mate as she spewed on her sister between the bar and the dancefloor - splashback is a bastard! Guest Gladstone
Best: Zane Lowe's DJ set after the Glasvegas gig on the Gonzo tour last year, and the Graham Coxon gig, and supporting Hayseed Dixie to a (I'm guessing) 300 strong crowd, and the crowd actually digging us...Worst: Supporting The Law at short notice. We had 1 person there we knew and I swear he was the only one that clapped during our set. In our final song, nobody clapped cos our mate had gone for a piss. Soul destroying. Guest Hobo
I got very drunk last night and proceeded to recite 'I had an Exodus from my oesophagus... all over some titties that were big as cities... didn't get laid now i get paid for bein a munter hunter!' to a woman at work that I find quite attractiveIt doesn't work as a chatup line
jf9tp2wd40
Best: Far too many good gigs, probably Blackout, From First To Last, We Are The Ocean and The Medic Droid... that was an amazing show. or the shikari show years ago where about 30 people turned up. or electric eel shock. or saosin. or alexisonfire, or flood of red, or... i could go on forever really, all teh best times there were just seing amazing bands.Worst Probably the multiple leg and ankle injuries from slipping down the stairs, mostly while sober or the time a few years ago when i missed my last bus on a satarday night and ended up walking home to ellon, that fucking SUCKED. Cloud
Also, I remember hearing a few years back that Aberdeen Uni (and possibly RGU too) nominate a club to be the unoffical union, seeing as there isn't one. Liquid has always been a favourite (for some unfathomable reason) but I heard The Tunnels was nominated as the 'alternative' venue. If Moshulu/Warehouse/whatever can catch that gravy train in time for freshers week, that could work out nicely. If I remeber rightly, Liquid paid off AUSA to be nominated as the 'union' - there was quite a big fuss at the time over it, because they didn't advertise anywhere else. Lousy thing for AUSA to accept, as Liquid ended up getting hundreds of gullible students decending on them that week and people tend to stay quite loyal for a while. Lemonade
I heard a rumour that Amadeus closed down because they got raided one night and there was something like 200 under agers in the venue. Lemonade
I cannot believe that the building has been empty for so long.Yeah I was just reading an old thread about it from 2007. I'm sure there was talk of it turning into a casino but nothing's ever come of it. I heard rumours that it's totally fucked inside, all dry rot and literally crumbling and basically just needs demolished.http://www.aberdeen-music.com/forums/other-clubs-venues/42634-amadeus.html

Dude, your new movie looks AWESOME. It makes me feel bad for refreshing your website every day disappointedly, hoping for a new story about the time you totally insulted this fat chick and then fucked some bitch with 3 legs.
Lemonade
Is that the place by the beach, how long ago did it close?Must have been around 2001/2002 I would say. It used to be really good back in 98-99, it was Scotland's biggest nightclub, it had 4 bars and comfortably held a few thousand people. It was basically packed out the door like 5 nights a week. And then in the space of about a year it just nose-dived alarmingly and ended up shutting down amidst rumours of only being able to pull in crowds of about 20 people. Monday night used to be all student anthems, cheap drinks and free entry and was really popular. They ran a bus from the halls of residence which was a stroke of genius. Thursdays was 70s night, c/w with cheesy disco music, and live dancers. Friday and Saturday were mostly chart and dance stuff. Any of those nights you would expect to queue for 45-60 minutes to get in, the queue would be right up past the bingo hall. It was a really really fun club, lots going on, and they even had a Sizzlers INSIDE the club!I was in just before the end and it was totally different, it was all just chav anthems and hardcore dance, it was horribly expensive, empty, dirty and most of the folk that were in were really young, and it just had an air of intimidation about it. I never enjoyed it at all after that and it went bust a few months later.

Lemonade
Having seen it from the outside heeps of times it does just look horrible, can't believe they still have the sign up and stuff, obviously no one even wants to buy it. Although if it can hold as many people as you say, would make a perfect venue size for some bigger bands to come up here once in a while that maybe around big enough to play AECC.25000 sq feet according to this. Dunno what that is in terms of capacity like. Where's Flash when you need him? It was fucking huge inside anyway.New plans for Aberdeens Amadeus - Evening Express

Scootray
Don't bother buying it!Just create a business plan for this exciting venture and whisk yourselves onto Dragon's Den. stuartmaxwell
If I remeber rightly, Liquid paid off AUSA to be nominated as the 'union' - there was quite a big fuss at the time over it, because they didn't advertise anywhere else. Lousy thing for AUSA to accept, as Liquid ended up getting hundreds of gullible students decending on them that week and people tend to stay quite loyal for a while.the sports union accepted a sponsorship deal after the deals with amadeus and the union went tits up and the money that had been budgeted to sports clubs wasnt there. Liquid stepped in (siezing an opportunity but also helping the SU out). The money gained from the sponsorship was directly funding sports teams within the Uni. The SA had nothing to do with this deal. it happened in the year when I was in charge of the sailing club/teamnobody was forced to go there, all that happened was we were given tickets each week to sell and on every ticket sold we got 1. We had negotiated a good sponsorship deal with the Blue Lamp and generally stuck there until 12 for good prices / free reign and then went to many different places.Amadeus was fucking laldy back in the day, I have some great memories of the place. I worked on the team who organised and promoted the mondays and wednesday student nights, anyone mind chesney hawkes? I actually ended up performing with the band that night. We used to get used a judges in modelling contests and all sorts of things which included free booze and good times!
stuartmaxwell
Best: the shikari show years ago where about 30 people turned up. I am assuming you are talking about enter shikari as opposed to the real band called shikari
northcountrygirl
I'm glad Moshulu's getting a refurb - its just too dark and dingy as for the carpet ... yuck!!Never really been much of a fan of Moshulu, preferred it years ago when I first came through to Aberdeen but I think it was maybe down to the people I was in there with - Best memories would be New Year 2006 - me and my flatmates ended up in there after being at the Castlegate, atmosphere was immense.Worst ... some of the last times I was in there - think it was a Friday night. Think I only recognised one song that played, the carpet was in its full sticky glory, it took ages to get served at the bar and the place was crammed full of girls wearing bondage gear, - it was the beginnings of me giving Moshulu the swerve. empty-words
On another note... even if the name changes, it'll always still be Moshulu! I'm intrigued by the changes that will be made.i remember the same thing was said bout the palace, henry j beans and lava.now we have liquid (yas) basement (dose of utter shite) and some hotel on belmont street.
