jester1470
I think you've made a good decision. Better to have not-so-good Izzard seats and see StewLee than good seats at Izzard and no StewLee. I think that's how that old saying goes...Saw Richard Herring last year and therefore it would be rude not to see Stewart Lee this time round
KarmaTsunami
Also going to this. Cannot wait!

kirsten
40 for two? Nice. I think I was 30ish for one...Saw Richard Herring last year and therefore it would be rude not to see Stewart Lee this time round Of course! I'd always secretly overlooked the Herring in favour of Stew, but saw a preview of Hitler Moustache in London in July and it was brilliant. That being said, also caught Mr Lee in Edinburgh this year and it was one of the greatest hours of live comedy I've ever seen, Music Hall gig is going to be spectacular. Biz
Eddie Izzard - 630pm start ? surely not... what time is he onstage?. I dinna fancy sitting about smelling those burgers for longer than necessary, and paying 7 quid a pint is a bit stupid, whatever next? parking charges? YOU betchya, coming soon to a car park near you.It sadly does not have artists stage times in the AECC site, mind you, they say a taxi to the rail station takes 5 minutes - ha ha, nice one
kirsten
Says on the tickets doors are 6.30 and the show starts 8pm.

TR!ΔNGL€ T€€TH
Eddie Izzard was brilliant tonight. So chuffed that I was in the middle 3 rows from the front, yaldy! There were so many parts and improvs that had me in stiches. His routine about the day to day life of dinosaurs had me crying with laughter.Aberdonians are pretty shite at heckling too; "Uuurrrrrrgghhhh" should never be deemed a witty quip to a professional comedian. KarmaTsunami
That was great. The bit with the giraffe miming putting on a tie had my cheeks hurting.
paranoid
That was fantastic last night.I was sitting near the shite heckler, didn't see who it was to knife them in the interval though. "Sharks are bastards" wasn't that great a heckle either.
framheim
the no atmosphere heckle was the only good heckle of the night, just a shame eddie didn't catch what he'd said. the rest were cringeworthy. as was most of the tweets that came up on the screen. eddie was on fine form indeed. jester1470
I enjoyed ther show, it was slightly better than last time i saw him on the Sexie Tour but nowhere near as good as the Dressed to Kill Tour 11 years ago, and having seen BillBailey and Billy Connolly this year I think the venue has a lot to do with it, i have no doubt either of the other 2 acts i saw could play the arena sizes and have chosen not to and I think their gigs were far better becauise of it.I found the gig a bit soulless, especially the first half, second half was much better imo. I would far rather he did 5 dates at HMT or the Music Hall than one night at the AECC, and I think his gigs would be so much better for it. CheersStuart
kirsten
I went in with low expectations, but that was so good! I love that guy! Did anyone else stay behind afterwards? I was reluctant to as I was on my own and would continue looking like a sad prick, but I bumped into my friend Paul, so ended up staying. About half an hour later, around 20 of us were escorted inside and Eddie came out and did a Q&A for half an hour. What a gent.the no atmosphere heckle was the only good heckle of the night, just a shame eddie didn't catch what he'd said. the rest were cringeworthy. as was most of the tweets that came up on the screen. He said afterwards that he heard the word "atmosphere" and thought the guy was having a go at the gig so early on and was going to say something until he heard everyone laughing and applauding and realised that it must have been something good. I like heckles like that!
Richie
Ah yes, the dinosaurs in church skit was Izzard gold. I actually preferred the first half I'd say, but there you go. Don't like the AECC as a veue at all but what are you going to do? Would love him to do 5 nights in the HMT but that aint really going to happen... kirsten
Yeah, the idea of comedy in arenas still perplexes me. I think the best venues for it in Aberdeen seem to be HMT and the Lemon Tree.
