Does your gramophone not have a speed switch? The one we have switches between 78 and 45rpm. We've got a few old 78's and 45's but I've no idea what they are. We inherited it from the other half's grandparents. It's from the 30's I'm led to believe.Sounds interesting - will defo check it out.Halfway through your post I was thinking "but my gramophone is from the 30s or so"... I haven't had a chance to properly inspect it but the person that bought it for us said she was told it only plays 78s. Alan Cynic Posted July 3, 2009 Report Share Posted July 3, 2009 Most old gramophones were 78 only....I think it was the late 40s/early50s before 33 and a bits came along, and the very late 50s when 45s became the thing.
