Dan G
Anything by Queen.Songwise, totally - but they're kinda borderline as I think of them as rock, even if they have ridiculousy pop moments.I guess it's the difference between a pop song and a pop band, so my fault for being too ambiguous in the original post.So on that note I would also say 80's Yes (Famously 'owner of a lonely heart', but also other songs from '90125' and 'Big Generator').And hell yeah to Tom Petty. Love his stuff.

Dan G
Frankie Goes to Hollywood- Two Tribes/ Welcome to the Pleasuredome yeah those are pretty epic as well. All produced by trevor Horn, who also did the 80's Yes stuff and Kiss from a Rose by Seal. His shit sounded massive. I'm a sucker for that huge ambient synthy 80s sound. Sometimes.
