New booze shop on Union Street

It's a Peckhams. Basically the same idea as McLeish's that was there before but looks a lot better. Large selection of decent wine, ale and whisky. Probably a bit pricier than the supermarket but with better individual deals, though I didn't look too closely.

Good range of sandwhiches, kchocolat stuff, general foodie goodness.

Boo, I was expecting loads of beers..... only wines and whisky according to their site..... rubbish.

Read my post! There's a selection of ales, though nothing looked "out there". Slightly better than the ale section in Asda.

I did read your post.... I don't really like ales :p

So what were you expecting/hoping they'd stock then if you're not interested in wine, whisky or ales? Bearing in mind it's a deli which immediately means it has to stock pretentious booze only, no tennents or stella.

Wellllll, i'd heard it had loads of beers from around the world and was hoping for some Australian and New Zealand beers I haven't had for a while mr grumpy pants.

I didn't know it was a deli chain specialising in food and wines.

Does that clear it up? :p

Aye it does

What about the big oddbins underneath Slaters? It might have the beers you're looking for.

or this place:

Beers of Europe Ltd - Belgian, German, British and World Beer and ale.

Though it's blocked from work so I can't check myself.

Aye, I've had a look in the oddbins a few times.

I'll check out that site though. Cheers.

And i'll pop in and have a look in this new place on Thursday night too! Never know, they might have some good stuff to try out.
