Guest idol_wild
I'm getting pop ups performing 'scans' on my machine and it states I have numerous Trojan concerns.Any advice? Aside from stop clicking myspace links, of course.
Le Stu
If that's a web popup then it's probably bullshit. Do you have anti-virus software installed?

Le Stu
The trial expired, if memory serves.Download FREE antivirus software - avast! Home EditionThat has a 60 day trial and a free key if you register. But if you don't think that was your virus software warning you, then it's probably one of those DANGER YOUR COMPUTER IS FULL OF LIZARDS CLICK HERE!! type nonsense. But download it and do a scan if you want to be on the safe side

Le Stu
My further thoughts on this. I don't really use myspace, unless I'm going directly to an artist's page, but I do use Google Chrome which I find to be fantastic and I never get any fucking hassle with it. However, it may not support your favorite plug-ins so it's maybe not for everyone.*oh, and it has a pr0n mode called incognito which is awesome! Kinnell
Get yourself onto majorgeeks.com. Loads of free security programs on there and everythings sound. I use comodo myself. Also a good idea to download web of trust. This will help you identify dodgy websites. A couple of other bits and pieces you might want are Ccleaner which you can use to get rid of any useless files and super anti spyware. these programs are all free and will keep your computer safe and running at it's full potential. Hope that helps.
Guest idol_wild
yea myspace links. sure.It actually was. I don't download porn - I just stream it. It was actually a link in the status bit from a local female artist that seems to have triggered it.
Kieran_imray
Something similar happened to me not long ago. Loading a system restore point from before the trojan got in to my system seemed to work.

emlyn_dewar
Download:Combofix (Google, bleepingcomputer link)SuperAntiSpyware FreeMalwarebytes AntiMalwareRun them all in safe mode. (Install SAS before going into safemode)Delete previous system restore points if you have actually been infected. As long as links in the popup weren't clicked, should be alright. Better safe than sorry tbh.
