Gigs? Shows?

Teabags

Recommended Posts

The word gig is usually used more commonly between musicians and during the promotion phase.

We need to get a gig man

You guys got a gig yet?

I hear there's a decent gig on tonight

We're playing our first gig next week, you need to come

Commonly, the gig becomes a show once the band gets on the stage and remains a show until the time the band exits the stage, whereupon both terms become interchangeable.

Hey guys, hope you enjoy the show

That was a great show!

Our first gig went well/Our first show went well

These are not hard and fast rules, and there are a few exceptions to these guidelines, but following them will allow you to not overuse the word show and allow Teabags to get a proper nights rest.
