Nev
Season has started at Brands today with a lot of team/driver changes, as per.The two Scots, Gordon Shedden and Jonny Adam had a coming together off the grid after Sheds had been banged by Stephen Jelley, both eventually having to retire.Plenty of racing incidents throughout, but no surprise to see Matt Neal and Fabrizio Giovanardi cross the line in a 1-2. The BMWs look strong off the line, so it'll be interesting to see how they develop over the season. As for the supports, Glynn Geddie from Aberdeen will again be competing in the GT3 Carrera Cup, while the departure of the Seat Cupra Cup means the Ginetta G50 championship comes in alongside the Ginetta Juniors which was in place last year.Glad it's back
Nev
And in race three of the day, Adam got his first BTCC win - to do so in his first race meeting is pretty impressive stuff.Geddie was top of his class in one of the GT3 Cup races as well. Nice one!
Nev
Bah, Adam was demoted to second for ramming Jason Plato (who pulled off an amazing save to flick his car back from a 90 degree angle to take second on the track). Plato was awarded the win only three or four days after getting a deal together to take part - Brawn-like rising for the ever popular JP
Nev
Shock news - Gordon Shedden has been replaced at Team Dynamics by former double champion James Thompson.Presumably it's down to cashflow/sponsorship issues given Sheds has lost the support of Clydesdale Bank (nae cash, apparently) and the team lost sponsorship from Halfords (nae cash, apparently). Thompson likely attracts better money, while second driver Dave Pinkney bought his place in the team, despite being shecht.
