Guest idol_wild
I have been listening to Joy Formidable quite heavily lately and, despite their atrocious band name, they can fucking play.Sadly, I have been wiped out of funds so cannae go. saf-one
Chew Lips two nights in a row huh?!! They were good last night.Three decent bands and three decent looking front women... which is never a bad thing.
pete_inthehills
just got back from this gig and it was flippin' brilliant. I just love the joy formidable's sound. The howling bells were fab and I even enjoyed the chew lips.Best gig of 2009 contender already!peteinthehills

rcalder82
Gutted I missed this though a lot of people I spoke to said Howling Bells were poor??? All had good things to say about The Joy Formidable though which is not surprising given how awesome they were at Drummonds.
Mr Owl PhD
Joy Formidable were excellent and energetic, as expected. I'd heard a few bits by Howling Bells before this show and hadn't been all that impressed. I was wondering if they might make more of an impression live but I'd heard enough after about four or five songs to know that they probably wouldn't. Not really my thing at all. aekido
Chew Lips were alright, There was about 20 people there when they did there set, which was slightly depressingTJF were emmense, energetic with a unique sound. really a pleasure to listen toHowling Bells were okay I guess, not really my cup of tea tho
kirkt
The Joy Formidable were def the highlight for me. A fantastically tight set. I really enjoyed Howling Bells too but couldn't get into Chew Lips at all and the singers dancing was annoying.
Monster Zero
The Joy Formidable were OK but I really don't get what everyone is getting so excited about, they aren't THAT good. Not bad by any means but nothing particularly original. The sound was a bit muddy and pish though.Howling Bells were pretty good but I can't decide whether wearing a T shirt with your own image on it is a hideous misjudgement or just a sign of confidence....Chew Lips just sounded like loads of other bands doing electro pop with a femnmale singer but they were good at it. Good voice.
Larsen B
I thought the Joy Formidable were pish. Howling Bells were ok. And why anyone would excited about "A fantastically tight set" is beyond me.

TR!ΔNGL€ T€€TH
This gig would have been much more enjoyable if the sound wasn't utter shit, there was just too much bass and drums.
