Huw
Been using my Sansamp to record some decent sounding bass, and would quite like a similar solution for guitar?I've seen some reletively affordable ones by palmer and hughes and kettner... any good? veldt666
I 've used the Palmer PDI-09 , (Cab simulated DI box), for many years, both live & recording, it gives a great sound.Although I see that Behringer / Peavey Etc, all do a version. The Palmer is available through Adam Hall. Check on the web.

Al Coholic
Jd10Award Session JD-10 is a forgotten hidden gem. It is essentially the pre-amp of a Sessionette. You can use it as DI box, as pre-amp for any crap-sounding transistor amp or as overdrive stomp box. They sometimes pop up on ebay (as Award Session or in the States as Morley JD-10). You can also still buy them new from Steward Ward for about 100.
HairyScaryMark
I have a sansamp psa-1 which I use for guitar. It is pretty good but generally greatly preferable to put it through a speaker cabinet and put a microphone in front of that. Some distortion pedals aren't too lousey by themselves but it depends how authentic you need it to be.
