What's on your "to buy" list?

Recommended Posts

I'm sure everyone has a list of albums they've been meaning to pick up for ages but just haven't gotten round to it yet. Like this.

The Killers - Day & Age

CSS - Donkey

Scout Niblett - any of her 4 albums, I've only got a bunch of random MP3s

Hilltop Hoods - The Hard Road

Hilltop Hoods - The Calling

Damien Rice - 9

'Once' soundtrack

7 Year Bitch - Viva Zapata!

Julie Ruin - Julie Ruin

Spinerette's first album (When it comes out)

Guns N Roses - Chinese Democracy

Kaiser Chiefs - Off with Their Heads

Live - Secret Samurai

Nirvana - With The Lights Out

The Raveonettes - Pretty In Black (I've lost my copy)

Weezer - Blue album (I've also lost my copy of this)

HorrorPops - Kiss Kiss Kill Kill

HorrorPops - Bring It On!

Seasick Steve - I Started Out With Nothing....

After being so impressed by April by Sun Kil Moon, I think I'll be investing in everything Mark Kozalek has released.

Do it.

He has only released solid gold music so far, under all of his monickers. I especially recommened What's Next to the Moon by Sun Kil Moon. The version of If You Want Blood is serene.

Well, that will be first on my shopping list then! Best Red House Painters to start with?

P.S. Who doesn't own Blonde on Blonde?! (other than Nefarious C it seems)

9 is pretty poor, O is miles and miles better.

I Started Out With Nothing... should be at the top of this list, great album.

Self-titled with the rollercoaster on the front cover. It has such genius tracks as:

Mistress

Things Mean A Lot

Strawberry Hill

Take Me Out

Grace Cathedral Park

But I also recommend the mini-album Down Colourful Hill purely for the track Michael. It has to be one of the finest elegies about a missed friend I have ever heard. Lyrically perfect, compositionally brilliant, and swathed with melancholy. I love sad songs.

I have Blonde on Blonde. However I can't believe that Nefarious C doesn't have Dark Side Of The Moon. Who doesn't own Dark Side Of The Moon? I've got 3 copies of it, 2 on CD and one on vinyl.

I don't.

That's mainly because I think Pink Floyd are one of the worst bands I've ever heard.

I technically don't. My parents own several copies though and I still lived at home when I was kind of into Pink Floyd. I still have a few albums of my own, but I don't listen to them all that frequently anymore. Still like them though.
