SATURDAY 28th FEBRUARY

FUDGE PRESENT AT THE MOORINGS BAR:

ERIC EUAN + FALLING RED + THEWS + TUPELO TOWN ASSEMBLY

ERIC EUAN

MySpace.com - Eric Euan - Aberdeen, Scotland, UK - Alternative / Rock - www.myspace.com/ericeuan

Eric Euan write alternative rock music of depth and substance. Instantly infectious songs driven by a powerful rhythm section. The dynamic three guitar attack and soaring vocal harmonies give the tunes a distinctive and lasting quality as the band draw on influences the length and breadth of the musical spectrum, and their isolated north-east location. They have a sound free from clich and unique enough to outlast any current trends. An established live act, they've have had the privilege of playing alongside noted bands such as, The Stranglers, The Delgados, De Rosa, Stapleton, Kerbdog, Deckard, Dawn of the Replicants, Mercury Tilt Switch, Alamos, El Presidente, Infadels and Macrocosmica

FALLING RED

MySpace.com - FALLING RED - Cumbria, UK - Rock / Metal / Classic Rock - www.myspace.com/fallingredband

Time for a Cumbrian trio who worship at the alter of Guns N' Roses, AC/DC, Velvet Revolver, Deep Purple, Thin Lizzy, Ugly Kid Joe, Black Label Society, Warrant ... it's glam rock 'til you drop, baby! Moorings Bar, you know you love it - loads of people have been playing Poison on the jukebox lately...

Check out 'If You Ain't Down With The Rock' on their myspace... breakdown and everything...

THEWS

MySpace.com - Thews - Dundee, Scotland - Rock / Rock / Rock - www.myspace.com/thethews

Thews is dudes from Laeto, Avast and Alamos - which is something of a pedigree, you'd have to agree. The Dundonians will be playing their first Aberdeen show, and there's four of them. More, we do not know.

TUPELO TOWN ASSEMBLY

MySpace.com - Tupelo Town Assembly - Aberdeen, UK - Blues / Alternative / Surf - www.myspace.com/tupelotownassembly

Three hellbound souls on the last train to rock n roll rythmn n groove oblivion. Taking the mainline through the Mississippi Delta and picking up the ferocity and groove of The Jon Spencer Blues Explosion, the fuzzed up frenzy of British & US Freakbeat & Psych, the laid back swagger of the Bad Seeds, the gutteral howl of the Cramps and the insistent drunken thump of Tom Waits on the way, Tupelo Town Assembly blaze a down and dirty blues soaked path not to be missed by any self respecting fan of this genre.

Announcement

PUBLIC ANNOUNCEMENT!

We would like to state for the record and in this worldly sensitive time that the 'hell bound' section of the TTA blurb is purely a throwback, retro, rock n roll special effect and we do not actually claim to be league with Beelzebub.

Many thanks from the lovely men at TTA central:up:

Never a problem for someone to bring an amp head, so take the VOX but the 4x12's are hard wired and life is too short, so please leave the cab at home. Although you can tell your speaker cab apart from others, nobody else can, especially in a room full of 200 people and with it micd up through a PA.

We're OK with the Behringer bass head. There's no problem with changing bass heads when there's built in FX at stake. The only reason we try and stick to the Ampeg head is because it's very big, weights a ton, and the less we move it the less expensive maintenance it requires. Just plug your head into our cab, we have a suitable cable.

The only things we object to swapping around are the cabs and the drum kit basics (kick and toms). If we get down to that level of pricking about then we need to reduce the number of bands and then the sums wouldn't add up.

We will be faffing to the minimum.

Using house guitar cabs

Bass head to swap

Toms to tweak to the right height

Harmonica mic as second vox mic

Fear ye not Flash! We are not too precious and far too long in the tooth to be a pain intentional pains in the ass...

8.30 sharp for some trashy garage blues Tupelo Action.

See, I use the word blues and instantly question myself if it is the crap-white-boy-blues-lite that is tepid by the book watered down shit! Or something a little more ballsy fuzztastic howlin poundin noisefest.

Thankfully we are the latter!

First signs of this being that bass fellow, Andy, has all the distortion noise pedals that the guitarist usually has and guitar chap, Phil has but one pedal, sometimes!
