The Ghost Of Fudge
Dogs D'Amour frontman Tyla is delighted to confirm a full length acoustic show at The Moorings Bar in a few months time. He's supported Johnny Thunders, and that makes him cooler than any of us. The Dogs mixed Rolling Stones and Faces style roots rock and Hanoi Rocks style glam punk, but his solo material is quite wistful/gothic/bluesy. He's also a fuckin hoot, I saw him play an acoustic set in Glasgow a few years back, and we were in stiches...Tyla will be bringing a selection of art (he paints) and books (he writes poetry) for your perusal. I haven't thought of any supports yet, but tickets will be onsale soon. In the meantime, if you think you'd suit/like a gig with Tyla, post here...MySpace.com - Tyla and The Dogs Damour - Island, TT - Electroacoustic / Minimalist / Comedy - www.myspace.com/tylaandthedogsdamourTyla And The Dogs D'amour New Site Soon+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++TYLA FROM DOGS D'AMOUR PLAYS THE MOORINGS BAR ON SATURDAY 18th APRIL 2009Tickets onsale, priced at 5. Lemonade
"Curtain-jerkers extrordinaire"???It's wrestling slang for the people who are lower down on the bill. As in someone who is always the opening act and never the headliner! (eg Matt Hardy, Carlito) It's a step higher than "jobber", whose job is just to lose to the higher card card guys without getting in any offence to make the top guys look better (eg Val Venis, Funaki) - these are also known as 'talent enhancement'.(Sometimes the opening match is called the 'curtain jerker' as well)Wrestling 101 - class dismissed.
