Xmas hampers?

Lemonade

Recommended Posts

I realise it's a week before Xmas and I'm pushing it a bit, but does anyone know of anywhere where I can go in and buy an Xmas hamper, containing like food and wine and cheese and stuff without having to fanny about ordering it and having it delivered? I just want to go in and buy one!

I'm sure M and S had them last year. If not try Kelly of Cults

That's awful...just looks like clearance goods from Makro, aren't hampers supposed to have gourmet stuff in them?

So far in mine i've put spanish smoked paprika, some sort of spanish spread/paste stuff, basil infused olive oil, gruyere cheese twists, a bottle of fairly expensive rioja (expensive being 7 quid reduced from a tenner, or something) peanut toffee brittle and ahem...a small packet of Jelly Belly beans (at least they're the classiest of all the jelly beans). I think if i can get one of those cheeses from the market and maybe some sausage or something, that would do me. total cost, 20 or something.

If it's not too far away, The Howe Pantry in Alford make up Christmas baskets - you get a great selection of sauces and specialist cheeses there. They have lots of different kinds of biscuits, cake, jams, chutney, olives blah blah it's a deli so you get the idea.

Give them a call 019755 63784 to get prices etc...

p.s. you can just phone them up, tell them roughly what you want and they'll come up with something that you just come in and pick up. It's all in the store and the baskets get made up there and then so no fannying about

I added chorizo and chocolate from lidl. not a great amount of stuff there though. expensive, but the delis really do have the coolest stuff. got some home made lime curd, multicoloured pasta (like pink and stuff!), posh cordial and fresh ground colombian coffee from some of the shops in stonehaven. best to pick up a few posh/expensive bits and pad it out with aldi/lidl/sainsburys stuff
