framheim
thoughts?it doesn't seem quite as revolutionary as they told us it would be. the avatars are ok but not a great leap forward from mii's. the new menu system again is nice but it's not going to redefine menus as we know them. Chris
Is that today or were you in the preview? Might have a quick look when I get home.

-matthEw-
I like it but I haven't been following it closely so wasn't aware that it was being hailed as 'revolutionary'.It certainly looks a lot nicer and the avatars are cool. Jim Stax
well I look the shnizzle now with my new avatar. It's slick but just a revamp... May well develop through use and upgrades...
Skull Commander
Early days, but my first impresions are mixed. The avatar thing is VERY nintendo, right down to the sound effects when your making them.I'v already had 2 freezes in 30 mins, just browsing friends and checking out new features. Hopefully this is just a teething problem. Also I can't find my way round the marketplace at the moment, but I expect that I'll be fine in a couple of days once I'v got used to it.Hardrive install is the main benefit of this that I can see. framheim
Putting COD WoW onto my HDD just now so see what that is like. Neat idea thoughincidentally, how is cod wow? i wasn't sold on the beta as it seemed quite gimmicky and the guns were a bit weak. need to trade fable 2 in for something and can't decide if it'll be cod or fallout. Jim Stax
incidentally, how is cod wow? i wasn't sold on the beta as it seemed quite gimmicky and the guns were a bit weak. need to trade fable 2 in for something and can't decide if it'll be cod or fallout.Loving it to be honest. The campaign is fab but nothing new and nothing wrong with that. A mix between 2 and 4 and full on!Live is good and there a few new match types to play. I recommend it. The coop campaign mode is ace with an arcade points system popping up on the screen when you get kills etc. It plays much smoother and faster than the beta version and I was only 27 fae Asda! Le Stu
It's good that you can install games now, but everything else just looks like Windows Vista and Wii and it still has my Halo wallpaper in the background with Chiefy looking over this trainwreck with his gun. Maybe he approves... maybe.
Captain America
The avatar thing is like a shit mii system. You can't change the colour of a t-shirt? Really? You can only make major changes to the face, you cant alter shapes of faces noses/chins overall size etc. It's like a half arsed mii creater. The changes aren't that great. Was it really necessary??Saying that, the party chat is great, I was playinf fallout and bantering with a group of friends, and matchmaking in gears and just continuing the same conversation that we had been in fallout with my friends on a different game, and we didn't have to put up with noisy (or annoying kid) americans/dickheads.So really I could have lived without the Nintendo copy bit. But some parts aint so bad.
Soda Jerk
The new dashboard makes it look less like a serious gaming console that the Xbox was, and more cartoony and 'family' like, like the Nintendo Wii. The avatars are a bit of a gimmick and are completely useless as they probably aren't going to be involved in any games like the Nintendo ones are.not that I'm bothered. I only play Fifa anyway. The Subtle Arts
For me visually it's appealing. That's always a bonus ofcourse its when you get down to the new features of the technical sort. For a start, its faster and not just the interface but also the loading times on the marketplace. The idea of installing games is great but lets face it; it's more of a novelty as you still need the disc to play. The avatars are nothing more than a visual addity but hopefully as time goes on there will be more games available for their use. Personally for me I was looking forward to the ability of deleting games from your gamerscore as I had several with 0gs thus lowering my % of games completion in total. I did have 43510/57890 I now have a score of 43770 with finishing off fallout 3 for the full 1000 tonight and low and behold I can't even see what my gamerscore could be anymore. Balls.Hopefully going to be on target for 50k gs by the end of the year if all goes to plan...
