Alkaline Posted November 28, 2008 Report Share Posted November 28, 2008 i thought it was awesome.....good action, lots of explosions, fit birds....quality entertainment.Don't know why the critics now expect Bond films to have an Oscar-winning plot...Moonraker anyone?Thunderball is terrible.I quite liked Moonraker: "Mr Bond. You appear with the tedious inevitability of an unloved season". Brilliant. Drax has some amazing lines throughout the film. It has Jaws in it too. Sheer genius Totally agree, Moonraker is great......all i'm saying is that critics are using a whole new set of criteria to judge Bond films these days.I love the Bourne films, but I dont feel the need to constantly compare them to Bond films. Just because something isn't as good as Bourne, doesn't make it shit...and that's what a lot of the criticism sounds like to me.Maybe I'm wrong, but I think QoS stands up on its own just fine. It becomes harder to compare bonds now due to the changing face of espionage these days. Seemed a whole lot simpler back in the 60s. All I would have needed to take out bond would have been a shark pool and lift with a collapsing floor, possibly, at a push, a double crossing female spy. He just can't deliver one-liners. One of the things that's missing from the last two Bond films is the light hearted, dry, sarcastic wit. There isn't even any comic relief, like Q.Hugh Jazz, i totally agree. I still prefer the Bond films to the Bourne ones though. I do like the Bourne films are good though.Both Casino Royal and Quantum of Solace were pretty good. Not a patch on Dr No though. Connery will always be my favourite Bond.
