what a dope I wuz

long whilie back (late 70's early 80's, memory is a bit foggy these days) I had a ticket for The Stones @ Roundhay Park, Leeds... and gave it to my brothers youngest son, so he could go with his dad and older bro,,,,, what a dickhead I was....

but DID go to see Springsteen (same place) a few years later....

Regrets, I've had a few, but then again, too few to mention...... lol

1982 it was - that was my first ever gig. (extremely young, obv...) with Joe Jackson and the J Geils Band I think. 120,000 crowd in a sunny park, great fun. My mum and dad came to pick me up and my Dad was cursing the Stones as their limo had sped out the gates and almost hit his Escort. "never did bloody like them"...

Personally I kind of regret being too hung over to be arsed going with my flatmate to some grunge band he'd heard about. He went anyway, and spent the afternoon chatting to Kurt, Krist and Dave on the steps of the QMU...

Probably made your hangover a lot worse than it was!!

I regret not going to any gig in the Lemon Tree or Kef, that happened whilst I was at uni, of bands that I totally love but just didn't know about. I know that's a bit vague though.

I wish I'd seen the Buzzcocks the first time they were at the Capitol (with Joy Division supporting)....saw them the next time, but I was up in Wick for a month so missed the first one.

Also wished I'd gone to see Tim Hardin at the Imperial Hotel (that's if he did actually play there...I might be confused about it.....I saw Billy Fury there about the same era, so they were puttting on decent stuff).

I wish I could go to Death Cab. :( I had friends willing and everything. Stupid people at work. :(

There are a copious number of gigs I wish I'd been alive/old enough to go to, but, alas.

The only two I can think of right now are;

Olafur Arnalds at Peacocks (I had no-one to go with. :down:)

Biffy at the Music Hall in '05 (I'd bought a ticket but my mum wouldn't let me go. :O Never let her live that down; CONVEX CONCAVE! :()

I remember my mother not letting me go to a show once, think it was to see Dedalus and Genevieve. They were supporting a wee Swedish act called Jeniferever, only pretty much my favourite band these days. Who i have still not seen live.
