Guest calumunderkills
Oh ok. I got confused. I thought you were trying to make a joke out of me saying seconded... Like they were a band or something.Admittedly, my post was in some weird nonsensical language. The ramblings of an idiot, you might say

Skacel
I tried to like them... but I just ended up hating them.Nooooooooooooooooo!!! To be honest they've probably only got one really good album, but it is a corker! IMO anyway
stuartmaxwell
guk can hardly be underrated. they are quite a "seminal" band

Christy
To the people who suggested Mansun - you have all made my day. I love them so much that I even dig 'Little Kix', which even the band have admitted they hate. Their best album is 'Six', but everything they've ever done is great. And their B-sides! Unbelievable! Only Belle and Sebastian can challenge them for the title of 'best EPs of the 90s'.Other underrated bands...SFA, Dark Star, Teenage Fanclub, Gorky's Zygotic Mynci, Ben Folds Five, Boo Radleys (I'm on a 90s theme here, as I don't really believe a 'new' band can be underrated).Love from Christy
Monster Zero
Stone Temple Pilots - too often derided as Pearl Jam clones due to similar vocal style, their first 2 albums however are far better than shite like No Code....good shout on Soundgarden being in the shadow of Nirvana - see also Screaming Trees on that front.... stuartmaxwell
Mansun, Dark Star, Teenage Fanclub, Gorky's Zygotic Mynci, agreed!!!

Stichman
Sebadoh should've been as big as Nirvana. Also underrated: Minus the Bear, Maps and Atlases and Faraquet.Hell yes. What about the Kinks? The rich man's Beatles.
-matthEw-
I'd say Eels and agree with the Kinks. Both bands are widly loved and pretty big, especially the Kinks, but have a back catalogue as good as anyones. Hence under-rated.
RodThunder
Kaddish are the most under- celebrated band ever to make music

kirkt
I'd agree with Karate actually. I also think Hum were under-rated.On a local level though...The No Pints. I only really thought of this because Kirk started the thread, but they were actually really enjoyable to see play. the songs were awesome as well."TARRANT TARRANT TARRANT TARRANT TARRANT TARRANT TARRANT TARRANT...TARRANT OFF TV"Haha no way I never thought i'd hear that. We were mainly a drunken shambles. Tarrant Off TV was pretty awesome though if I do say so myself.

AKA the brando
I actually thought that Jyrojets album was really good and expected a better reaction to it.Agree about POPUP quality.there was a another band from glasgow called the Hip Parade who were `pure magic man`have to put Delays in there too because although they have had a bit of success, i think they deserve more. AKA the brando
oh The Electric Soft Parade too! first album did well, mercury nominated and all that, but there latest album was really good too and if you listen to the different bands the brothers White are in then you appreciate how talented they are.namely the amazing BRAKES
