Amusement Parks on Fire are a band from Nottingham, UK.

The band was formed by Michael Feerick in 2004, who wrote and performed all the instruments for the self-titled debut album. The band now writes and performs as a five-piece group: Michael Feerick (guitar/vocals), Daniel Knowles (guitar/production), Peter Dale (drums), Gavin Poole (bass) and Joe Hardy (keyboard).

he band began as the solo project of Michael Feerick in 2004, who wrote and recorded ten songs on a small budget with friend Daniel Knowles engineering the sessions. The self-titled debut album was released in the UK on INVADA Records, a label run by Geoff Barrow of Portishead in 2005. The band signed to V2 Records in 2005 and recorded their second studio album Out of the Angeles at Sigur Rs' Sundlaugin studio in lafoss, Iceland.

The line-up altered to its current state in summer 2006 with the addition of Gavin Poole (Bass) and Joe Hardy (Keyboards). This was followed by a co-headline tour of the UK with US noise outfit Scarling. and a headline tour across mainland Europe and Scandinavia. The band played in Japan for the first time at the Summer Sonic Festival 2006.

In addition to the second album Out of the Angeles, the band are currently recording a series of limited edition 12" EPs the first of which, In Flight was released early in September 2006. This was followed by A Star Is Born on the 2nd of April 2007. The band recently played a short UK tour and debuted some new material, and are currently in Nottingham recording new material for release in 2008. In addition, they are currently playing some small live shows across the UK and Ireland, and mostly travelling by train.

After momentarily disappearing to record I can gladly confirm, ladies and gentlemen, Katerwaul are fuckin' back. Thoroughly enjoyed their set last night, watching Nick's manly locks flying all over the shop being a total highlight.

French Quarter were pretty good, started strong but maybe could have done to mix up their sound a little? Thought they got a little 'samey', but that's just my opinion. Still enjoyed it, might pick up their record at some point.

AMoF were [prepares for a hail of abuse!] ...a bit boring. Their sound was crisp (even through industrial strength earplugs!) and I loved them initially, but I tired of them by the end. It felt a little like each song was a continuation of the last. Can't fault the performance, just the music. They were good sports about the power cut though.

Thumbs down to the Tunnels for letting me get boozy on a schoolnight :(

watching amusement parks on fire last night was like trying to jerk off to a 6-hour porno -

it was initially quite enjoyable and exciting but the repetitive nature of what was witnessed and performed became increasingly apparant and the action itself became too physically tiring to continue with:

eventually i had to pull my pants up and go and get a drink to recuperate

I thought both Katerwaul and The French Quarter played fine sets.

Amusement Parks on Fire started brilliantly. I love their racket. But only for about 45 minutes. They played for too long, so I got bored.

Plus, I fucking hate encores.
