Usually I'd laugh at a post like this. "Free car" I'd say "Not bloody likely har de har har". However today I just feel sorry for you because some strange chap just the other week gave away a car on this very forum. Poor you, because it's not going to happen again as sure as a cat is a hairy beast.

Auctions are not the best place to buy, unless your 100% sure about spotting crap. Friend of mine bought a car for 3 grand, when he drove out of the place the fuel tank fell out. Turns out it was held in with bungee cords =/.

is that true?!

what kind of cars!?

All sorts of cars, everything from old fiestas and stuff going for 50, up to new cars going for thousands.

The lot is open all day and you just go in and wander around, note down the numbers of the cars you like, then they do the actual auction in the evening. There's a sticker in all the car windows saying if it's taxed / MOTd, and you can open them and have a look inside but you can't start them.

This is about all the info I can find

I dropped my old G-reg Vaxhall Nova off at the auctions at St Macher a good few years back expecting to get fuck all for it.

Imagine my surprise when they sent me a cheque for 18 a few weeks later (which was after they'd taken their 12 fee off).

It was a piece of shit and not worth 30, but there you go.

I bought a car off some random bloke once for 100, a 1984 Volkswagen Polo in gold / rust with a big dent in the front where he'd hit a deer. Now THAT was a piece of shit. I ran it for about 3 months and then dropped it off at the scrappy.
